I’m in the middle of the Chantal sweater and can’t recommend it enough! The construction and details are so beautiful and I don’t find it takes any longer than regular stockinette. Can’t wait to see your version :)

I used a fingering weight wool and a suri lace. I went down a needle size to get gauge. Could be bc of me or the yarn weight, but the fabric feels really nice and airy with that combo

Ah so true regarding knitting plans! I stick to mine right now, but very tempted for another ones as well :) Oh wow such a long way you will make to Canarian Islands! I am a hiker as well and love biking so much! I hope you have a great time here. Regarding the yarn shops, I dont know any on those islands, but if you ever visit Tenerife, I recommend hand-diy!

I finally found the time to watch your fall knitting plans. This is quite an extensive list! 🙂 Just wanted to mention that, since you said that you are sensitive towards more rustic yarns, unspun yarns might not be a good option for you. They definitely fall under the rustic category, even Nutiden.

Yes the list is quite loaded, but I think three projects I have mentioned (that I dont have the yarn for yet) will move to the next year. Maybe an unspun could be an option for an unbottoned cardigan, which has to be worn with something else under :)

The pattern looks to be complex with good fitting prospect… which suits me and does not make me hesitant. I have just ordered the pattern and it should arrive shortly.

Would you mind speaking more about yarn on cone? How do you find it and how do you know what to pay attention to? (E.g. which yarn will bloom when washed and which will not) I would love to learn more!

@@imperfected6513 Sure! I would suggest buying very known yarns when starting with yarn on cone, to avoid surprises. For example, Loro Piana Coarsehair or Loro Piana Coarsehair New Tweed is known for its bloom, and you can work it either with one or two strands. You can look up this yarn on Etsy, or contact me in Instagram I ll send you the shop in Ukraine, they can also ship worldwide. Another shop I know but never purchased is from Germany, it’s called Woolright. There are some other yarns that are popular and have good reputations, but you ll need to work with more strands together (4-8 strands): Tollegno Harmony (100% merino), Zegna Baruffa Cashwool (100% merino), Cariaggi 2/28 100% Cashmere 1500 m/100 g, LaneCardate Canberra (100 % merino) can be worked with 2-3 strands.

Hi, Your videos are excellent, full of information and ideas, very inspiring! I prefer to work from 500g cones of yarn too, so can I ask you how you knit double with the yarn if you only have one cone?

thank you very much 🤎 You will need to use yarn winder, and wind up separate balls. The amount of balls should be equivalent to the amount of strands you will be knitting with. You will need scales as well. So lets say your cone is 500 g and you want to knit with 4 strands. 500 grams divided by 4 will give 125 grams. So you start winding yarn and create 4 different balls of 125 grams. Now its ready to be knitted with 4 strands :) In your case, since you need 2 strands of yarn, you only wind another ball of 250 grams and you are ready to knit :) I hope it made sense! There are some tricks on how to knit with 2-3 strands from one cone, but I dont like it personally. It can become madness, and its not comfortable as for me.

Maybe you can write them a message and they should help you choose the yarn: instagram.com/wool_expert/?hl=en Another option is to just seek these yarns on Etsy, but i imagine there is less chances someone will actually speak to you and help choose the yarns. Another shop on Etsy, but way more expensive than from Ukraine: www.etsy.com/es/shop/YARNITALY?ref=l2-about-shopname&from_page=listing And just if you google "Italian yarn on cone" , you should find quite a few big shops online. However, if you want it the cheapest possible, Ukraine is the best. I hope it helps!

I suspect the twisting on raglan sleeves is caused by a person with more square shoulders wearing it. Maybe try adding a few short rows starting 3 to 6 rows before your natural edge of your shoulders (depending on the squareness of your shoulders and thickness of your wool) and add in your short rows, stopping at the natural edge of your shoulder so you will now be following the pattern. I assume you will have to alter the stitch count at this point though. I haven't tried this, since I have sloping shoulders and don't have this twisting problem. But it is worth a try.

Thats interesting! I've heard from a few designers that the raglan ideally has to have some short rows along the shoulder edge, but I have not dived into any research about it yet. Will read some info and of course its exciting to try out, thanks!

Just fyi, the Chantal sweater is just one strand of wild and soft held with mohair. Just letting you know because that was holding you back from starting it thinking it was 2 strands of wild and soft. The pattern is kinda confusing the way she writes the yarn combo.

Oh thank you very much! I just went to her ravelry again, and yes its a bit confusing, because it says: worked with two strands held together wild and soft + held together silk mohair. I checked a few ongoing ravelry projects and yes, they hold only one strand of fingering. That changes the game! Your comment held me from making a mistake :)
