In Tibetan Buddhism, a mandala helps devotees along their spiritual path. It represents a god's palace as well as the entire cosmos in a geometric-circular format. Mandalas may be two-dimensional (a drawing or painting) or three-dimensional (a sculpture or architectural space). By meditating on a mandala, a practitioner embarks on a mental journey. They begin in the outermost circle and progress inward to become one with the god or divine couple at the center.
