Steven is exactly like my husband was, improvising whatever we had. He hated waste. Every inch was used. Flipping weather we're getting is crazy bring on the weekend!

It’s that time of year for us too, clearing out the freezers in preparation for this years pork and lamb. We end up having some strange meal combinations, all part of the smallholding life!

suggestion if you do a gate, its a big span so it would probably be easier to have 2 smaller gates that meet in the middle rather than 1 big one, its looking amazing. i wish i had the option for my horses!

You guys are my favourites on here, it’s always a treat when I see a new video up. Fence looks great, looking forwards to the gate episode next week 😂. If that happened here, we would have had half the posts in for about 3 weeks and the rest of the wood in the middle of the yard (oh wait, we have!!). Our pig is off next week too, I think she’s a bit fat but we’ll see - do you have a set cutting list? I guess it’s a bit easier to decide as you go when Steven does it. The only thing in the freezer that’s flummoxing me is a massive haunch of venison, I have no idea what to do with it - any suggestions?

I would probably cook it slow outside with a little red wine (as I’d drink the rest 😂) and some crusty bread to dip in the gravy. Yum! We tend to plan what we want ahead re pigs, ste tells me yes or no when I say what I’d like and looks at me in disbelief that I still get it wrong 🤣 oooh believe us, we can totally relate to the time passing with jobs part done? Good luck with the pig 🐷
