Autumn Pike Fishing - Casting and Trolling for Giant Northernpike

Autumn is here in full force and we have no choice but to battle the horrible conditions that are thrown at us this year. In this video I fished with Jesper for two days, doing two styles of fishing we both like to do: casting big baits on the shallows and trolling them above deeper water!

I am praying for You guys to get a 140 cm pike. I am 100% sure that there are at least few of those swimming in the Netherlands. If anybody then it You guys that deserve it ! I know you dont weigh fish very often but by your estimate, how often do you get a pike over 10 kg and how many do you think you have caught in total?

Aren’t the lakes in Netherlands very shallow? I think the deepest lake there is only 7 meters.

We got lakes up to 40m, but they are shallow on average compared to lakes in other countries

Do you always retrieve your lures so fast when casting retrieving?

It really depends on the bait and when you drift really fast due to the wind, fishing above the grass, you need to compensate with the speed of your retrieve
