Okay, this might sound random but I just HAVE to share this 😂My boyfriend didn’t have a birthday or anything, but I read somewhere that most men only get their first flowers at their funeral. So I was like... um no, I’m changing that. I got him this LEGO flower bouquet made for men. I handed it to him and said, ‘I read this and thought of you,’ and omg, he actually teared up! 😭We spent the evening building it together like a little date night, and it was so much fun. Honestly, I didn’t expect him to react like that... I think he was really touched. Anyway, it’s super cute and now it's sitting on his desk haha. Just wanted to share because it made me so happy

What you said about making your art and the issues with validation are so valid. I make music and lately I’ve been so happy just making singles and not released them to the public. I’ve shifted my perspective as a creator when it comes to making something new. I used to think success came from the number of spotify listeners. Now success is defined by accomplishing a music project, it comes from within

Your poetry album coming out was so exciting and fresh for me I downloaded the whole thing and I even shared it with my boyfriend it was exciting for him as well. I think people love to see other people express themselves honestly, I think that your poetry album will age really well and is something you can listen to multiple times and the layers will uncover themselves as they age. It is new and as put your work out it will create its own space where whether people like it or not. Oh Karissa, thank you for sharing a brave bit of vulnerability. Personally I'd say don't dwell on the people saying this is not what they came for. You owe nothing to your audience but truth and kindness. Please expand and try whatever takes you, your real audience will always find you. Thank you so much for this video Karissa. I related to so much of what you said. I self-published a novel many years ago, and although I’ve written others since, I haven’t published them as I’ve struggled with editing and self-worth. I think with me, it’s absolutely tied to the external validation and critique I received first time, and how I managed my expectations. But I’ve also come to realise that healing those old wounds are key to moving forward, and that vulnerability is a huge part of being an artist and a creative person. I’ve realised that I have to create for me, and put my anxiety about other people’s opinions to the wayside. I also think that ‘birthing’ a creative project is a big deal and does warrant a lot of down time and introspection afterwards. I really love your poetry; it’s beautiful. Best wishes.

it's kind of crazy i always find myself getting back into your videos when it feels like they were meant for me in that moment. i resonated so deeply with everything you said, i accidentally did all the same practices for the autumn equinox just based on intuition, not even realizing what day it was, i even listened to that fiona apple song and that line you mentioned caught my attention where i just sat and thought about it for a while lol. couldnt help but laugh when you said that lyric, it was like cosmic confirmation that following my intuition and happening upon this video was no coincidence haha. love the cozy style home vlog btw, keep it up if you enjoy it!

You have a community of people and you’re leading by example in ways- the idea of that can create feelings of insecurities when you’re growing, learning, healing, or changing but the community you’re growing likes to resonate and grow with you since the secret is any powerful soul understands it’s always going to be growing, changing, and even experience times that feel like set backs. I love this type of content! I love all sides of you even if you came on here one day and said “yk what…fvck it I don’t wanna do sh!t today just what I want” chances are id be like “dang thinking that yesterday”. Real people understand releasing negativity from this world isn’t supposed to be pretty- it only is after it’s done.
