Time for some nostalgia-ambience style! It's the 1980s and you're hanging out in your family's game room on a rainy night. Your favorite Nintendo game is locked and loaded, and later you plan to pop John Carpenter's 'The Thing' into the VCR. Your best friend is sleeping over, and you're enjoying Cokes and chips, the sugar buzz carrying you through the night.
If you were teleported back to the 80s for a single day . . .
What would you do/where would you go?
What band would you go see live?
What movie would you go watch in the theatre?
What would you buy that you can no longer get in our time?
For those who lived through the 80s, what's one thing that seemed so small or unimportant then, but now, when you look back, you realize was pretty awesome?
Hope you enjoyed this small trip back to this totally tubular era! Some sounds you'll hear are VHS, cassette tape, and Nintendo controller handling, rain against the window, a VCR rewinding a tape, carpet shuffling, chip bags, chips being poured, Coke cans being opened, and more!
Be kind, rewind. Or, yanno . . . give this a like, comment and/or share.

Oh. My. GOD. The '80s were my favourite decade! I was born in '74. I wish I could go back sometimes. Those were fun days!! I was reading Stephen King, still colouring, listening to records, cutting out paper dolls from the Sears catalogue for my three sisters, writing in scads of diaries, making mix tapes, wearing electric blue mascara and frosted pink lipstick, and sneaking out at night with my bff to walks the streets of our tiny town feeling so badass.

While we have better technology today I would trade it all for a chance to go back to the 80's for as long as I want. I nearly cried when I recently visited Toys R Us and Sears. They look like empty back rooms. Employees look like zombies as they sit and stare at their phone without blinking. No customers other than myself. It felt like I was in a bad dream. I remember these stores were bustling and very popular when I was a kid. They're now on life support.

Inject the nostalgia into my veins! 😂So many rainy days in Oregon spent playing video games inside. I was born in the late 80s so this was actually more my older siblings era. I did however have a game from the early 90s called "Super Mario All Stars" for the Super Nintendo that was a compilation of all the 80s Mario games. Great job on this as well as your 80s diner 👍

One large hit of nostalgia coming right up!!! I bet your older siblings loved showing you all the stuff from their time! I was very little during this era, but my siblings were obsessed with Nintendo and all these movies and games. I wasn't alive during the 70s, but sooo gotta try that next. I'm absolutely obsessed!!!! I'm 44 and I still remember the day in 1988 when my brother and I walked into our parents room and found them playing Super Mario on the Nintendo they just bought us; we were so excited!! They set it up in our playroom and we spent hours on Mario original, 2 & 3, Bubble Bobble, Castlevaina, Metroid, King Kong, Punch Out, Zelda and other classics. I wish I had bought the NES Classic, mainly for Mario 3, when it was released a few yrs ago but it sold out instantly. This is amazing Autumn, and I can just hear you pressing AA, BB, up down, up down on the controller 🤣🤣

I was born in 1980, so this is so nostalgic ❤ Brings back memories of childhood sleepovers that consisted of a movie and snacks while laying on the carpet - so cozy! Times were so simple then. The pace of life was so much slower and everyone was so much more connected to each other. I remember when 3-way phone calls became a thing, and how us kids would sit up half the night chatting on the phone and sneak calling boys lol. Having a phone in your bedroom was The Thing back then. Good times!
@AutumnCozy

I sooo agree that people were so much more connected. We saw fewer faces, but spent meaningful time with the people we really cared about. Now it feels like we spend too much time focusing on strangers and not nurturing out real-life relationships. 3 way phone calls were the BEST! Loved sitting up and chatting with my favorite people (and yessss, sneak calling boys, lol!). Thanks for the reminder of all these fun things we used to do!

This scene you set was the normal life and not special then but is special now.

Autumn cozy actually did it! This channel delivers! Everything here is just perfect, the warm light, blinking VCR clock, NES, gold Zelda cart, rain hit the windows, etc. I think it would be cool if you started adding in like small easter egg type stuff like those games where you have to find things in a scene, except Autumn Cozy specific. Could even be a hidden animation that happens at a secret time. In this 80s scene, maybe at the 2 hour mark, all of a sudden, you hear the Emergency Broadcast System tone and the TV shows the warning, then you hear the guy say his usual lines, “this is only a test”……or is it? 😅

Oh hell yeah, I love this! Definitely is a new scene you’ve done and I love how you decorated the room. Well done Autumn cozy! Also, to answer one of the questions, I would go see Michael Jackson live if I was teleported to the 80s because he’s my all time favorite artists. And he’s a big inspiration for me to keep doing what I love and to really just be a good person, and to respect and appreciate the people I meet in my life, so yeah

Oh the nostalgia! 😊 It would've been cool if you added Atari! That was so fun to play when my brother and I were kids! We both grew up in the 90s and played Atari all the time! Things were so much better back then! I miss my childhood lol 🥲

Autumn! What a fantastic idea! I wasn’t in the world yet back in the 80s but the beginnings of the 90s felt pretty much the same to me. The hours we spent by playing Mario, Sonic, Alex Kidd and others on Sega Master System, oh… It’s not just a fond memory, it’s what makes me a gamer up to this day. To your questions - if I was teleported back to the 80s for a single day… What would I do and where I would go? I’d go to the hairdresser to get one of the voluminous hairstyles done. What band would I go to see live? I’d go to see Michael Jackson’s concert. What movie would you go watch in the theatre? Labyrinth. What would you buy that you can no longer get in our time? Wow, huh… Something from McDonald’s, even what we can still buy today because I am sure it tastes different. What's one thing that seemed so small or unimportant then, but now, when you look back, you realize was pretty awesome? I have not lived through the 80s and I can't even believe I'm saying that but the absence of internet. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE internet, I LOVE to have information immediately and be in contact with people I would never be if it wasn't for internet but... Sometimes, it gets too much. And because I do suffer from FOMO at times, I can't disconnect.

Labyrinth! 80s hairstyles! Michael Jackson LIVE in concert! NO INTERNET!!! All of this-yes! (I sooo know what you mean about the Internet. It can be a handy tool, sure, but goodness it's the WORST sometimes too.) I did most of my growing up in the 90s, so I'm totally due for an ambience from those years! I'll come up with something soon . . . Thank you for sharing you answers to those questions too. Made me want to do a Labyrinth re-watch!

This would be more like late 80's early 90's rich kid. That stereo deck and the SMB3 in 1989 was top of the line except when it came to the Sega Genesis.
