Auxbeam daytime running light mode on Ranger Raptor is TOO MUCH!

I got my lights wired up with the day time running light option in the auxbeams and it is too much going on. I love the offroad lights for night off road driving (video coming soon) but the DTRL is too much with the other amber market lights i already have installed.

I like to keep my cars looking "stock ++," like the amber lights you put in the grill. That looks great and I'm definitely doing that. To me, the pod lights up front are too much and look tacked on. it's a good idea to disable the DRL on the 12 inch bar which looks pretty good. I plan on getting a long narrow light for the grill and a light bar on the roof which i think will look fantastic. Thanks for sharing!

that sounds awesome. I just ordered a 32" light bar that should fit behind the grill. it will be here on Saturday so i will be moving the 12" bar to the bed and the 32" behind the grill for the stealthier look. I am going to get a set of actual brackets for the ditch lights on the hood, i like them because when you are out on the trail, you can point them 45 degrees off to the sides to really light up what is out on the sides of the trail. I will be disabling the running lights on all of them through because i think just the 4 little amber lights are the perfect touch and all the extra takes away from it. 30 inch light bar for the truck bed/rear sounds like a great idea. On the roof pointing down maybe. Idk how you could attach it to the truck

I wonder if there would be a way to use the mounting points for the 3rd brake light to mount a light up there. Or if it’s big enough you could use the rear hard points under the gutter covers.

Haha, I ordered a set and f struts that is also able to mount some ditch lights but they are coming from Australia so it takes a while. I should have them in a week or two but I will be rid of the silly prop rod soon enough

@@flaberdoopin I ordered mine from Indi Carbon after i saw your light video. I put them on as soon as I got them and what a difference. Took my 30 min but only because I was slow and careful.

You should consider Line-X for the truck bed. I had mine on my truck since 2017 and its holding up very well.

Absolutely. I plan to get the bed sprayed pretty soon. My initial thought was that I needed to do it right away then I realized I don’t care if the bed paint looks like crap right before they cover it with bed liner but I want to make sure it isn’t rusty. Cheers,

The pods look good. The light bar in the middle makes the grill lights look weird, can only habe one or the other. Less is more in this case. Maybe not functionally, but for looks.

I agree that the light bar in the middle is too much for sure. I ordered a 32" light bar that should fit perfectly behind the grill... once i get that, i'll be moving the 12" bar from above the license plate to the bed of the truck instead. That will help clean it up a bit. I will probably turn off the running lights on the pod as well... they are great when you need the extra light on the trail but for all time running, it detracts from the grill in my opinion

@@flaberdoopin it seems like you would just have to drill a small hole through the back to thread the wires through and you would be all set. My raptor gets built in 2 weeks!

yeah, but the one weird thing about those top three holes is that they get smaller and smaller as they go back into the grill. it isn't like the spots below that are the same dimension all the way back. it would have to be a really specific design for the lights, but it is doable for sure! honestly, you could do it with a 16" orange led light bar and just put it behind the grill and cut the back of the 3 holes out of the grill. if there is a will there is a way for sure and i think it would look good for sure!

I instaled a 80cm hella led bar, fits amazing behind the grill. What I could’t do is make it so it lights up with the highbeams.

If you are using a separate relay there is a high beam signal wire down to the left side of the drivers footwell behind the plastic paneling, it is even labeled I believe. I can try to find it today and make a quick video if you want but it would mean you have to rewire a bit of gear to make it work with the high beams

Question about your earlier amber light install. Why didn’t you mount the amber lights in the 3 slots right under the hood front edge? Too many holes to drill?

Those spots are smaller and they aren’t symmetrical as they get deeper
