We dealt with a situation recently: our daughter was bullied cause of her "puffy hair"...we thought this would be a good moment to teach and educate about this experience.

Yes when i was a child in elementary school. I was or i am adopted, only Brown guy pretty much in the entire school in the 90s. It was fun to joke about my skin, at times it was non harmful, but some older guys could definitly make me sad, but the positive out of it was that when i got older 10-12-13 people thought it was almost cool, some where curious. Most of the people did not want to make me sad, but they probably never thought about the fact that i could be, but so are kids, basically they can be very rude and not think about the consequences. This was in Sweden. But what is interesting is that only perhaps 3 times in my life someone really meant it by racial abuse, but being culturar "adapted" i did not know anything else but Sweden because i was only a small baby when i was adopted, i always felt like a swede despite having biological roots elsewhere. But i condemn bullying, and no matter who you are, how you look, you should be accepted. I think both of them girls hair are awsome. Dont let them bullies get to you, cause in the future them bullies hopefully mature and look back and realise how stupid they were. Rock on girls! 🙌🏽

Them kids that made fun of Ava's hair is probably just jealous they don't have a lot of hair. Kids at school can be so cruel. If they keep f**king with Ava over her hair, that would be an opportunity for her to beat them up to get them off her back.

The root cause is jealousy and ignorance. They are mad and envious. No one gets to pick what type of skin color or hair texture they would like to own . Your mom is correct that is their problem not yours. Your hair is so so beautiful and natural with endless options.

I know I'm whiter than mayo but I have very thick, curly and corse hair. I've had to use products made for other ethnicities/races because regular products don't work on me. I was constantly made fun of my "fro" bc humidity messed with my curls. I used to cry to my mother as a child and tell her. I hated my hair and she would tell me " When you grow up everybody will be jealous of your hair" And she ended up being right. Don't let other people Define you.

My parents didn’t know the extent of it as I was too embarrassed to tell what was going on. Listen to your mama Alexa and Ava, she knows what she’s talking about. I work at a center and something I never knew is that 3 year old could bully and that it can affect their peers so drastically. I had to have a long conversation with one of the children because she was telling a couple of her peers that the way they wear their hair is ugly and certain colors that they wear are ugly and certain clothes they wear are ugly. And effect the other child so much that she was telling her mom she couldn't wear certain clothes and hairstyles because (child's name) will tell her she was ugly.

I'm multi-racial, and I was bullied by one girl in Catholic school, when I was ages 5-11. She walked around with an entourage of girls who would surround me in the playground and say, "She think she big and bad, 'cause she got good hair!" I never told on them, or revealed to my mother what I was subjected to daily. I was terrified of them. My life changed for the better when I transferred out of that school. As a child, I didn't know how to stand up for myself. When I turned eighteen, I did the big chop, and when I was thirty-seven, I went bald, with a few periods of growth here and there. I'm sixty-one now, and hearing about black and mixed-race children getting hair shamed, still makes me feel some kinda way. No matter what I did with my hair, someone always had something to say, whether it was good or bad. Ultimately, what I do with my hair, is my business. Worry about taking care of the crown you were born with, and leave others alone.

That's jealousy plain and simple, and this is how it works.... Jealousy is when there's something about you that they love, and they hate the fact that they love it...They want to be like you, and they hate the fact that they can't🤨 keep shining, baby girl...cuz you got Options... loooots of options. Sending big hugs to you💝

Ava and Alexis have gorgeous hair. As a mixed ethnic black woman . my hair is short and curly cause I’m too old to deal with it. lol . I’ve been wearing my hair natural for over 10 years. I love it. Y’all are beautiful girls and love yourself and embrace your natural hair. ❤❤ Mama is right.

It bothers me how people choose to be ignorant in this day and age. They have the most beautiful hair ever. As an African with a few strands of hair and working towards making is voluminous I am really admire their hair.

Then don't need to die. They can texlax. Or become bedwenches and have biracial kids for that type of hair. Their mother did it. So can anyone else. Typical... It's always the dark skin black woman with a hair hat that does the interacial thing. Deep down you just know she hates herself. But feels vindicated because of her little biracials.

As a black tween in 5th grade, my classmates kinda like my hair out. Especially when it’s up in a bun/ponytail. But you girls really inspire me to not be insecure and that I’m not alone. ❤

I'm wondering if they were white. If not. Then black kids were not taught this. Black kids were taught their hair was infierior especially if the were 4C from the get go. So naturally I can understand why. Far too many buck dancers in this comment section trying to uplift these biracials. And bring down the kids with low self esteem. 🙄

Your girls are lovely. I can't get over the number of hair products you have. My daughter has similar hair- curly, dense and down to her tailbone. It's a task to keep it hydrated. However, her hair is protein sensitive, so I'm limited on options. Your girls' hair looks beautiful and hyrrated and their skin is glowing. Good job, momma 🙏🏽❤

One time I had my hair in braids, *id always had it out straight and natural* it was all cute, two ponytails, braided tight, with clear beads. The kids at my school laughed and teased me all day. I went to the nurse and to,d her I was sick, (I wasn’t) so I could go home. My mom picked me up and said this “Now I know you ain’t sick. What’s wrong?” I started to cry and to,d her what happened. That night I told her I wanted it straight with ZERO curls and braids. She asked me, is this what I wanted, or was I just sad still. I told her this is what I anted, cause I liked it that way. The next day, before I went to school, she told me this. “I love your hair. Natural , straight, braided, with a big Afro, anything. I’d love you, no matter what happens, I’ll stick with you girly.”
