The only problem with that idea is that copying a pattern or an idea isn't "unoriginal". Choosing your own key, writing your own lyrics, changing up your instrumentation, and even choosing how to present the song in video and in concert are all unique creative choices. They're also choices that dozens of people have touched. You have usually a few people working on writing piece, the people deciding if it's worth producing, the artist and band recording all of the tracks, an audio engineering recording, balancing, and mixing everything, and then several dozen more per music video and concert. Copying in art isn't lazy, it's inspiration. Note: I do think there's a difference between copying or being inspired by something versus straight up stealing it. Like it'd be one thing for me to try to create some variation of Starry Night because I want to try my hand at Van Gogh's style and a completely different thing for me to grab that painting out of the museum, sign my name in the corner, and then sell it as my own.
