Someone swapped the face with the face from The Hood and it apparently looks much better, according to David Displays Model Behavior I wish I could actually see what it looked like lol

I can't believe Hasbro thought this headsculpt was exceptable. ZERO effects pieces...and no angry head sculpt...FAIL.

100% agree with everything you said here, man! Really good review on this one! I would have loved to have seen the following things done in the design stage. 1) Adding an "A" to the belt or chest design; 2) His lips seem a little too dark to me, so a lighter paint color there would have looked better; 3) He needed some SFX pieces. Three quake "blasting" effects that you could put on the ground to show force coming up from below, and a set of spiraling blasts that could be attached to his wrists. 4) I wish he was either on a bigger buck, or he came with more impressive shoulder armor pieces. If those things could have been added, then this figure wouldn't seem nearly so generic. The metallic plastic, I'm fine with, but the blue is such a dull and uninteresting choice of blue. I'm not sure why they went with that?

Honestly, I don't know! I don't mind it, but the blue isn't particularly close to either his comic or animation model

They used the same shoulder part on the arms. 4:05 Front right shoulder sculpt is the same as the back left shoulder sculpt 3:46. 1:25 Compared with Wonder Man, Avalanche's right shoulder is reversed/backward. But recently Hasbro has been inconsistent with which side is the front when using the Grim Reaper shoulders.

Honestly I'm excited about this figure. All the things that you said are negatives as far as Design Elements I see as positives. Mostly because of what you said of him being a b grade villain. In an age where Marvel MCU is throwing the goofiness of costumed superheroes / villains under the bus for street civilian clothes. I'm growing more fond the comic book authenticness of this type of costume and simplicity

Yeah I'm not into MCU street clothing aesthetic, and this goofy outfit should appeal to the fans of uncanny X-Men. But I Can't see casual/new collectors picking this one up though.

I agree they should have included the "A" with his costume . I almost ordered it and just noticed it was missing. Hopefully Hasbro re-release an updated version.

@@xcorpeo Collecting X-Men related Marvel Legends is what I like to do, but even me, I'm seriously considering cancelling my pre-order and waiting for this to be clearanced. Then again, since he's been a long-awaited Brotherhood character and people like to complete teams, I'm still a little concerned about him selling out. What do you think are the chances of that?

@@TheQuebecDragon I also started ML back in the 2000s for X-Men. So Avalanche is a long time coming for me too. But I'm confident he'll go to clearance. The previous retro X-Men wave didn't do too well at retail, at least in Singapore

So disappointed. Thanks for the review. It wouldn't have taken much money and effort to elevate this beyond so plain and boring. Just an extra head looking like the box art, some kind of A somewhere and the swirly power effects... seen for Rictor, another character with seismic powers. Ideally, we would have had that Hulk base but if it was between this and an extra head, I would have taken the extra head.

At least paint the A and include power effects. These won't add much $$ to the cost of production.
