Avantasia featured Jorn Lande (the long haired blond one) is a Norwegian hard rock and heavy metal singer. He is known for his work with the bands Ark, Beyond Twilight, Millenium, Vagabond, The Snakes, and most notably with power metal band Masterplan. He is also the most recurrent guest singer of the international supergroup Avantasia. Avantasia is a German supergroup metal opera project created by Tobias Sammet, vocalist of the band Edguy.

Avantasia is a German project by Tobias Sammert, who has already worked with many different guest singers. By the way, Dan Vasc has done some covers of Avantasia. Tobias Sammet (first singer) writes concept albums, so different singers represent different characters. Mostly two or three singers are featured in a song. Tobias has recorded two songs with Floor Jansen (I esp. love Misplaced among the Angels) and is also featured on The Source by Ayreon (playing the Captain). If you want to see how a whole bunch of lead vocalists work perfectly well in one performance you need to go back to Ayreon. The videos of the last live show are now being released, please check out The 6th Extinction or Beneath the Waves. So sad that so many amazing European bands never make it across the pond.

only know of Avantasia because of Ayreon (The Source). more progressive metal, except he likes to perform rather than just wrote like Arjen does. once again, I have to thank following Nightwish and Floor Jansen for finding out about these artists. it has really opened my musical library to all of these European talents.
