Great video and thank you so much! I am thinking of getting the Avasta single speed and I wonder do you still ride it after 2 years and how do you feel about it? After a long time do you still recommend it? Thank you!

Hello. The bike still works great! I’ve gone through a few pairs of brake pads but other than that it’s been a really solid bike. Of course, proper maintenance will make the bike last a lot longer, but for an entry level bike you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for watching!

Great video man. Just recently bought a lightly used one off someone for $100. Inspected it to make sure the chain and brakes were working fine but it had lost air in the tires from sitting in his garage. Was looking to upgrade to some more beefed up tires but was wondering if that would be possible with this bike?
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching! That’s a steal for 100 bucks! I have 700x25 tires on there now. You might be able to get a 700x28 on there but I haven’t tried so I can’t say for sure. I’ve only gotten a couple flats but that wasn’t the fault of the tires. Both were during night rides and both were from me hitting a bigger rock while sitting down. If it were during the day likely I would have missed them but they’ve stood up to the test of time for me anyways. If your concern is flats you can add some tire liners to help with punctures along with upgraded tires.

Great vid! I already bought this same model but it hasn't arrive yet. I was wondering if you know the diameter of the handlebar? I'm planning to get a drop bar before it arrives lol
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting! This is a message from the seller: “I don't have the exact measurements available but the stem clamp diameter is around 26mm and the bar ends are 22.2mm. I suggest getting a more standard stem with 31.8 bar clamp so you can use more handlebars” I’ve thought about getting some drop bars for mine too. Let me know what you end up doing I’m curious to see how it works out for you. Thanks again!

Now that you’ve had it for a bit is it worth it I’m thinking of buying one to get into cycling this summer in Canada.
@ADayintheLifeofMr232 жыл бұрын
I’m approaching 200 miles (300+km) on it and was gonna do an update video after that. But in short, YES! I’m blown away at the quality for the price. Years ago I bought a cheap road bike from Walmart and had a terrible experience with it. But this has blown me away. I’m semi familiar with bikes, I grew up riding BMX, so I was comfortable adjusting the brakes and small tweaks to it. Only thing I could really say bad about the bike so far is the rims didn’t come completely trued. There’s a small wobble in both wheels but it isn’t noticeable while riding and doesn’t impact the braking. The freewheel also probably isn’t the best quality either but that’s a quick cheap upgrade as well. Longest ride so far was 13 miles, took me about 50 minutes, and I felt great after. I did upgrade my saddle also so I’m sure that helped with the comfort. In my experience so far it’s absolutely worth it.

@@ADayintheLifeofMr23 I’m pretty comfortable as well adjusting minor things and my friends have been biking for awhile now so I’m sure they can help. I just wanted to hear from someone who really used the bike to hear their experience. I wanted a 6ku cause they’re cheap and seem easy to set up but this bike is just as cheap and seems about the same quality as I’ve seen from 6ku. But they’ve been sold out for some time. There’s only a few left on Canadian Amazon so I’m pulling the trigger and buying it today.

Hey! Love the video, and plan on getting the bike but I'm worried about sizing. I noticed that you have the 58cm frame. Do you mind sharing how tall you (and your inseam if that isn't too personal). Thanks!
@ADayintheLifeofMr232 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I’m 6’ tall, about 180lbs and inseam is about 31”. I am still loving this thing too. No issues at all. I will likely be replacing the freewheel….it has started to make some noise last couple rides. But other than that it’s been a great bike. Hope that was helpful! 🙌🏼

Hey, what’s the process for flipping the back tire to fixed gear? Do you have to change the tire direction or just a simple flip?
@ADayintheLifeofMr232 жыл бұрын
Hey there. Depending on your tires you may need to also change the direction of those when you flip the wheel. In my case with these gator skin tires I can just flip the wheel without changing the tire direction.

@@ADayintheLifeofMr23 thanks so much for the reply. I’ve been looking at this bike but was hesitant since I have some dexterity issues but seems like it should be fine. Thanks again!

@@jonathandosman5496 no problem. Thanks for watching. I just did 11 miles today and it’s still really impressing me. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it if you get. One thing you’ll need you tune to you is the gearing. I’m gonna do a video on that soon. But right now it’s just a little too small for me. If I get a small downhill there comes a point where I can’t pedal as fast as the gearing is going. So if I were to change it to fixed gear it could be really challenging to ride the routes I currently go.

@ADayintheLifeofMr23 Жыл бұрын
Hello. It comes stock with 44/16 ratio. It’s decent but there are times where I go too fast for the ratio and it just spins. But for the most part it’s not a bad setup for a beginner. Thanks for watching.
