The complaints with regards to either the ‘all white’ cast or Kate Winslet is quite ridiculous! First off, the Aliens are played by people of many different backgrounds, no one has an issue with Zoe’s or Cliffs performance but for some reason Kate W gets called out cause she is ‘white’? 1. The cast is very diverse, look at the amount of diversity, there is absolutely no issue there 2. The aliens are INSPIRED by people on earth and how they’re treated by others but they are NOT people on earth, they are aliens, they are BLUE aliens. If actors offer great performances and chemistry that’s what you want and I feel all the actors do that! The fact that certain people from indigenous groups asked James Cameron to help and they have also enjoyed what he has done, so many people are speaking out on behalf of them rather than accepting that some are against it and some are for it, everyone else should not have an issue on it!

Avatar 3 has the chance to very much elevate the storytelling of the series, based on how he said the next one will be morally complex. He's introducing a new Na'vi clan as new antagonists. Better spectacle with a more compelling narrative will blow this sequel out of the water. So Avatar 4 and 5 are gonna likely be greenlit.

As a Disney executive, you have to be completely insane NOT to greenlight Avatar 4 and 5 based on A2's numbers. A2 has grossed more than ANY Marvel movie since Endgame (2019!) and is on track for $2 billion. Movie 3 could very well surpass those numbers. How can you NOT greenlight the last 2 movies? Marvel is clearly on a downward trajectory, Disney needs this franchise more than ever, they simply cannot afford to lose James Cameron to another studio, he owns the IP.

It depends on the narrative strength of 3. If he can tie a neat bow, there's no need for 4 and 5. If he feels itchy, like there's more that needs to be said, he should be trusted to tell the story well. Where the problem comes in, is if they'll be too greedy. Will 4 and 5 get too much pressure to come out fast instead of letting him do his thing? If 4 gets rushed then 5 is doomed. There's a lot to consider, but, I agree with you. I think he should be free to do literally anything he wants, timelines and schedules be damned. For some reason I feel like it'll make 2 billion no problem, its all about what we're, as an audience, is limited to, nothing else is really in theaters to compete with such an experience, not just now but for the next serval weeks, let it be myself rewatching the film or word of mouth telling people to go experience it, plus, it's an actual must see movie event that doesn't come out too often, we, as an audience have been waiting for something this big to come out since endgame. I love no way home but it wasn't a technical impressive film, Top Gun was but its still just the same normal type of filmmaking we all see & love, Avatar is a must to experience in theaters that is on another level. It's been 13 years since we, as an audience as been to Pandora, 13 years of no other filmmaker even attempting something on this scale (thank you James Cameron) & I just feel as if The Way of Water is how Cameron probably saw this world in his head with this kind of VFX before the first Avatar, & this time I really felt why he wanted to make these films. Also, I know Avatar 3 & 4 will be expensive but it has gotta be much less than The Way of Water since Cameron already shot a lot of Avatar 3 & 4, I see The Way of Water's budget to also be a big part of 3 & 4, kinda how lord of rings & Matrix sequels were shot.

I wouldn’t blame Robbie for Amsterdam or Babylon, on paper those are two huge films from very respected directors that are very interesting ORIGINAL stories, that we’re guaranteed theatrical releases: basically, types of films that simply don’t exist anymore. And you can see why: Hollywood trained it’s audience over the pandemic to relay strictly on the IV drip of franchises and Netflix content, and now any sort of story that isn’t based on IP and that provokes the audience, has a intention other than sole entertainment value, is DOA. It’s really not hard to see. This movie would’ve been a huge success even as early as 2019 I would say.

What’s with Graces fans being all sappy with a “I’ve been a fan of this random newly resurfaced franchise since I was 1 week old and it’s amazing and the best thing ever and it’s gonna be the best thing and whoever questions it is a hater and a denier” like no bro maybe snyderverse and avatar just weren’t that good for some people
@rodrilover172 жыл бұрын
I’ve learned that when someone says “people don’t like…” or “everybody thinks…” it only means that they don’t like something or they think a certain way. It’s just their way of trying to hide their opinion amongst the invisible nonexistent masses. Just putting that out there.

I liked Margot Robbie in _I, Tonya._ But it was really frustrating that it was limited release in December and didn't go wide for so many weeks. Reminds me a bit of _Don't Look Up_ and _Glass Onion_ which were films I wanted to see in theaters, but missed.

25:28 I think Margot Robbie is suffering from the Leonardo DiCaprio effect where the worst movies he has ever made were all from directors you would think would deliver, and they both happen to be there the one time they didn't.

I am latino, mexican specific, and i don't see no White saver , what i see is a protector father who is willing to do anything to keep his family safe. And i don't see how it is offensive that Kate portraits a native ALIEN, they are freaking ACTORS, they PLAY/PRETEND TO BE SOMEONE WHO THEY ARE NOT! is like when they bring a british, Canadian or australian actor to play a American character, should americans feel ofended that the actor is not american. Or ME ,i love Sicario and Del Toro IS NOT MEXICAN and he plays a MEXICAN CHARACTER, do i feel ofended, HELL NOOOOOO!!! I find this thing pretty stupid! Cliff is not a native american neither a blue alien, how does that doesn't trig you. People are SOOOOO DOUBLE STANDARD.

I mean like, america is not the only country in the world you know right grace? Nor is it 50% of the world. So in this epic movies you can't expect for 50% of the WORLD box office (WORLD, NOT JUST AMERICA. Yes Americans see more movies then the usual audience but this types of movie are worldwide events just like endgame). Babylon is a type of movie that centers around Hollywood (USA). If even Americans don't want to see it, why should India or Brazil or Colombia or south Africa or Canada or Russia or Argentina or mexico or any of the other countries in the world that are not the USA have any interest in seeing it? Statistically, very few people in the rest of the world are interested in wasting money to see it cause we don't go to the movies that often and that's why marvel makes money out here.

2 facts about to be revealed... Why 3D doesn't work and Why Way of the Water is actually great if not, at least a good movie. 1. 3D is awesome and it works well for certain movies like Avatar 2 but after watching the movie for an hour it loses the luster so to speak from when you first start to experience the 3D. It basically becomes a clear well looking Dolby laser with no 3D. That's why 3D doesn't work as well as we think it should. 2. Proof that Avatar The Way of Water is a good movie is not many movies you can sit for 3 hours and not be be bored or heck for that matter want to see again. I've liked Avatar The Way of Water but didn't love it and I still wanted to see it again. I've seen it 5 times so far an it was a fun experience each time. I liked how the music and how they adapted the first movies music into another well rounded theme.

Hi, Grace! Love your channel and infectious exuberance and joie de vivre! I was thrilled to see you plug Gerry Duggan’s X-Men run, which I love. However, I disagree with you on two points: 1) Duggan has done a marvelous job developing Jean Grey (my favorite character) and reestablishing her as one of the X-Men’s premier members. Be sure to check out his X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1, year two of X-Men, which started with issue #13, ALL of Kieron Gillen’s Judgment Day, and Dark Web: X-Men. 2) I think X-Men, X-Men: Red, and Immortal X-Men--the flagship triad--comprise some of the best series this franchise has had in years. Definitely try reading them together. Keep rocking on and have a blessed new year! 🙏🏻
