His avatar state simply looks cooler, but it's picayune and tenuous compared to Korra's. Korra's avatar state allowed her to defeat a being that can literally erase the avatar spirit for 10,000 years. Her avatar state allowed her to tear a hole in reality and create a spirit portal. There's really no contest. Korra is much stronger.

Korra’s avatar state was so powerful she made a third spirit portal… she defeated like 3-4 different enemies that were really powerful not to mention she went up against the spirit of darkness that is the opposite of the spirit that literally gave every avatar the ability to go into the avatar state and she went through half of her battles without past avatar guidance. It's obvious that you didn't look at the LOK well. Korra resisted blood bend without an avatar state. As a child, Korra calmly used the 3 elements without teachers. She was only honing her skills. Although she was only able to use air a year after she started training, after a short period of time, she was able to use Aang's scooter without any problems, which is saying a lot. Her spirt bending much stronger his spirt bending, because Raava has become much stronger in the LOK (+Korra interacts much more with spirits)

For those who have watched the show, aang is stronger than any avatar in the avatar state. Korra would’ve been but she broke the avatar cycle resting it and remaking her the first avatar. The avatar state is all the past lives combine together, aang had so many past lives. Korra technically has none. Aang is also way wiser and smarter and would out play Korra in any way.

Korra is to cocky she wouldn’t win, korra dives head first, aang is patient, brains beats power, kovera or however you spell it was much more stronger than korra, it took her brains to beat her. It would be much of the same against aang. But being a monk and knowing when to strike at the right time. Aang would find Korra’s weekness and attack it and win with or without the avatar state so either way aang wins. And he’s 112 😂 people forget he was frozen for 100 years. So much so, that if it weren't true, Korra wouldn't have been able to pull off the greatest display of power ever seen in Avatar history. And btw, I think you got stuck in a misperception of Korra, it is obvious that she is no longer an impulsive person, capable of analyzing, planning and executing actions without problem. People talk about Aang's patience and all that, completely ignoring that Korra managed to balance all of her abilities. They just get stuck in the Korra of the past... (And even in the past she showed great planning ability on several occasions, it is a mistake that she is almost always treated as an irrational bull without control).

Also past lives doesn't give you raw power they just give you knowledge and less control, raw power comes from Raava, technically Raava without Vaatu is much stronger so Korra's Avatar State is much stronger than Aang's.
