Not sure if it's just me but the AMP suit from Avatar really reminds me of Khamsin from Metal Gear Rising, only his lower torso is the entire mech rather than him just piloting it. I wouldn't be surprised if these are what inspired his design, I mean he even has a tank top and is a soldier like the antagonist from the first Avatar. Although, Khamsin's mech is way more dynamic looking both in color and design especially with his giant chainsaw-axe weapon, these things look like the atlas mechs from Mass Effect.

Looks great, would love to see like a different color arm or panel like it needed to be replaced during the battle and all they had was a demo or different "camo" colored machine part laying around. (Like chappie) I know not movie accurate but it's a custom.

now with the first comment out of the way. The result is awesome! One tip that I use all the time with tanks or steel looking machinery is to add graphite to edges. That gives the shine you see in heavy pieces of metal that are weathered. Great job Chris!

Have you seen the Disneyworld avatar area? If not then next to the gift shop there’s a full sized AMP suit that’s been dressed up like the navi took it so it’s covered in rust and paint This reminds me of that and it is as always fucking amazing

Cool, but you should have added a small piece up the right shoulder to drive the ammo reel. I don't know why McFarlane forgotten that. Also, the forearms positions are wrong. You have how those forearms positions should be on the box of the toy, back's photo

The cockpit is so scuffed I don't think Quaritch will be able to see out of it lol. So it's a good thing he's just an action figure. Everything else looks great though.

Chris, I'm seeing this after your post about possi ly canning this series.... I truly love this series for many reasons. Whether it be the shitty commentary, drowning pieces in shoe polish, or slapping driveway dirt all over the place, you keep it interesting. You've inspired me to customize toys as well, and I love learning all the great things you come up with (like how you did the diarama of the star wars destroyed tie fighter, or the armored batfleck figure). If this series is truly over I understand, but it will be a shame we can't see more of what you enjoy doing. Love ya buddy🤘

Love it Chris. But how would you do a flaking paint effect. Like if the paint has chipped off and it's rusty underneath.

A good way is your metal colour first. Then cover the bits you want to chip off with toothpaste! Then spray in another colour and once dry, wipe away the paste! Super cheap super easy
