Never does Avatar release something that sounds the same as music they've released before. Always has its center solid, but deviates all over the place. This is the sign of an incredibly passionate band dedicated to exploring metal in as many ways as possible while still remaining true to themselves. Even though my favorite album is Feathers and Flesh, I've yet to hear any album by Avatar that doesn't sound amazing in its own way. I'm excited for Hunter Gatherer and I hope you all are staying safe and living life to its fullest. Thanks for making music that has inspired me since I first discovered it 5 years ago

I never got the whole "sounds like their old stuff" comments. Their sound might change ever so slightly, but the style is style very recognizable. Bands go through a constant evolution, and listening to them from beginning to end, it may not be noticeable. Bands like Korn, Slipknot, System of a Down, ... they all went through this gradual change. But the personalized style of the band itself will always be recognized.

Very, very well said. These guys are just phenomenal musicians, who's songwriting ability is better than anything currently in their genre. They truly "craft" everything they write, going wherever the song goes as it develops, which obviously leads them on different paths that deviate from what was before it. Just great music, layered, textured, polished songs that stand on their own. Feathers and Flesh is my fave also, it's a shame that album didn't attract more attention, afaik (I listen to very little of these new bands) the album is unlike anything else. To me, Feathers and Flesh is their high water mark. This song is the balls, 100% Avatar, ama I hate to say it, I was disappointed with God of sick dreams, but might grow on me. I'm going freakin nuts waiting for more songs to be released.

I’ve seen these guys 4 times. Three of those times they were a warm up band. My wife and I were at a Trivium show and she said who would put these guys on as an opening act? Doesn’t seem like a very good idea. Naturally we were there to see there to see Avatar; however, they are soooo good they tend to outshine the headlining bands.

Three or four years ago I first saw a interview of avatar at a music award thing, I saw their outfits and changed the channel because it seemed stupid. Then I avidly avoided them for about a month before I finally gave in. They had been popping up in my recommend for ever. Fast forward to now - Seen then three times, met them once, Not even close to done seeing them and meeting with them. I listen to them constantly. 10/10 do not regret. What a powerful band
