Really liked how this episode touched on each character's insecurity: Katara's survivor's guilt, Sokka's fear of inadequacy, and Aang's fear of the how he can help people.

The millipede is a creature called the face of Kho. Aang encounters him in the spirit realm in the cartoon as well. If you show emotion or fear in his presence, he can steal your face. He's just as creepy as the cartoon 😂

Koh is even creepier in the live-action now that they changed him into a predatory spirit. Instead of taking faces from people who show any emotion, he now takes them like any other predator would. You can see how he starts taking the faces of the people he had captured. Basically, the faces become his "food" and, once a person loses their face, they become lost forever, since they lose their sense of individuality.

@@faranbutt Yeah, but in the cartoon, Koh doesn't go after his prey, he lures them to him. Many spirits have already expressed great dislike for Koh for allowing humans to approach him.

I feel like they added the whole Sokka dating a fire soldier girl so that it's like he's dating here and there and not serious about anyone so that it didn't feel like he'd cheated on Suki with Yue or vice versa. 3 is easier than 2 in a weird way lol

Speaking of NPCs and what are they doing when you aren't around....there is a wild old film from 1990 starring Tim Roth and Gary Oldman called "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead." They play R and G, who are Hamlet's friends in the play Hamlet. But this movie is all from their point of view when they awake and try to figure out where and why they are. Throughout the movie, the Hamlet plotline is progressing, but we only see it when they have scenes. They have long fascinating hilarious talks about the nature of Being and what is Reality.

Robert is so on point for not having watched the animated series before! Indeed, those crawlers they were talking about in the cafe were from one of the few "throw away" episodes in all of the animated series. Can I say that I did not like the big owl showing up so early in this season (masterfully voiced by Hector Elizondo in book 2 of the animated series)? It's like it was not even necessary for advancing the plot here (trying not to spoil anything here).

My frustration with this Episode....it took SEVERAL of The Best Moments in the Spirit Realm from BOTH AtLA & Korra and put them ALL in the same episode and threaded them together... Koh steals your face by Showing Emotion in front of him, which is Why They Startle Aang with the Monkey face...to Try Provoking a Reaction...in this series it is used as nothing more than a Throw Away possible jump scare... When they Lift Complete Actions and use them Without Context....they are there for nothing more than A) Nostalgia or B) this will look Cool...........Impactful Moments distilled to B make Fans feel Insulted...and the use of Koh here was nothing more than "'member Koh? We member Koh. Member this Exact scene? We dont because we forgot to include context" It took one of the most impressive interactions for Aang...Not Showing His Emotions...and chucked it to the side while Keeping the Actions...Koh is far more than a Trickster but that is what they were distilled down to here...okay I said my piece lol. Happy you are both enjoying this version of the series and I hope it pushes you to watch the much superior version that is the Animated Masterpiece.
