Agreed but Iroh doing all that fancy arm movement that didn't actually help him firebend is very much not like the cartoon. Not quite out of the water yet lol. That kinda super stylistic, cool to the point of becoming cheesy, touch they always feel compelled to add to as many scenes as possible is just part of the culture & Netflix isn't immune from its influence. They're so worried about appealing to fans they throw in flashy crouching tiger cinematic nonsense. Let's hope they care about making good stuff instead of trying so hard to look cool they ironically end up ruining it

To be fair i think people thought they might save her bending until book 2 if they get one. In her first fight against zuko she never showed her blue bending also so i get it. I could see them having her in flashbacks with her fire orange and then eventually turning blue.

So I am a 49 year old woman and I used to watch this with my now 21 year old son when he was around 7 or 8 and I was as invested in the saga as he was! It was OUR thing! Then years later came Korra and I started watching that with my two younger sons. I adore this show and I love this new adaptation. The cast is AMAZING, and the young lady playing Kitara is absolutely adorable. King Bumi and Toph along with Uncle Iroh are my faves. Team AVATAR for life!

Idk abt the emotion part, for a fictional world they made us empathize with all of the main cast in the original show. For an animated series, that pain of war and loss did feel real.
