This band does the same thing for me that Ghost does. A lot of their backing music isn't super technical (well, the lead guitar... but beyond that...) but it's so damn catchy. Their bassist really fucking drives the song forward. It's amazing.

+Joe Carter Avatar takes their vids seriously, they're not given enough credit for neither their videos nor their music imo, their music is pretty damn creative and unorthodox. At first they seem like alternative metal, but after you listen for a while they really just don't fit into that genre at all. They're like... Melodic Groove Metal or somethin. Really has a distinctive sound. Something that I've lately only been hearing from Math Rock bands.

Is it just me who sees 1984 references in this vid? I mean how they all wake up in the same time, they all have the warm-up, meanwhile some leader shout on them from the big screens everywhere... Also that idea of the long, pointless war, that in the end brings only death and misery to them all. Both sides think that they are in right, that they are the "good ones" and their enemies are the "bad ones". And don't realise that in fact they are all same ordinary people that are just being manipulated and brain washed by the war propaganda...

Caught these guys at Club LA in Destin Florida last Saturday April 29th. THEY WERE AWESOME!! Avatar keeps getting better & better. I love how they experiment with different tones & styles......just f'n awesome. We drove 5 hours to get to the venue.Thank you Avatar for such a great weekend for me and my husband. 0:45 Elysian fields in ancient Greek mythology is something like modern day paradise. Dont know how I never heard of this band before but somehow they slipped through my radar. Probobly because I cant stand most music now and its hard to find a band that sticks out to me. But just a few days ago I randomly clicked on "bloody angel" and I havnt been able to get this band out of my head ever since. Something about them, their videos are awesome and yes this one does remind me of Dethklok very much. Their aggressiveness both instrumentally and vocally is impressive. And the creepy dare I say Juggaloesque face paint really works for the vocalist. And yea Ill probobly get some haters talkin crap cause I compared them to juggalos but you have to admit. Anything associated with carnivals, clowns, freakshows is gonna make you think of ICP. I am a fan of all music im general just dont care too much for country or pop but I like when bands can mix sounds and genres and have a style also and I feel AVATAR has all that and they do a great job . I look foward to discovering the rest of their work.
