Ave Maria by Franz Schubert (1825).
Austrian composer Franz Schubert (1797 to 1828) initially compose this piece as a part of a seven song set based on Scottish writer Walter Scott’s poem “The Lady of the Lake”. It was the third song of the series that became the basis for the song “Ave Maria“ based on the Catholic prayer of the same name. Overtime, the species has become one of the most popular well-known catholic songs.
Ave Maria literally means Hail Mary.
Personally, I love this songs, Melody, reminds me of looking up and thinking of something positive kind of looking towards the light. Love the arrangement with the chords, very beautiful Harmony as well. In the first part of the piece, the melody is led by the left hand, and then the second part of the arrangement. The melody switches to the right hand, emphasizing the main theme in octaves. The harmony reminds me of the gentle waves in the sea/ocean.
