They used to make a mechanical grandfather clock that had a CD player and a speaker in it that had recordings of clock chimes from all over the world. The clock would trigger the CD on the quarters and pay the chimes.

@@solinus7131Not that I am aware of. I don't think it went over well with customers since it was electronic. People don't think of grandfather clocks as electronic. I believe they only sold them for a few years in the late 1990's.

Sounds like this one thing Rhythm did in Japan, with the unusual "Mineral Sound" line-up of public display 'karakuri' clocks. They had CD audio in them of some random songs which were supposedly done by an orchestra i forgot the name of, which was played alongside moving dolls which struck rods.

I don't honestly recall since I sold it a year and half ago. It may have been a Howard Miller.
