I've just know today that there's an Avé Maria song created by a Russian composer called Vladimir Vavilov and i heard some versions and this is the most beautiful. This beautiful singer has the perfect angelic voice for this masterpiece. May Our Mother Mary protect and bless us all ❤ Amém ❤

You don't have to be a Christian for this to move you. Vavilov's beautiful melody, Onnink's impeccable piano, and Roseboom absolutely beautiful voice can lift anyone. Not only have I listened a hundred times at least, I've also let all the Gary Moore fans know where he got his most famous song from. Thanks Vladimir.

This is interesting. I saw your comment on a Gary Moore video, which led me here. I'll confess, I've never heard of Vavilov, but Wikipedia tells me he composed this around 1970. I've always thought the 'Gary Moore chord sequence' (it appears on so many of his songs) first appeared on "Autumn Leaves". Wikipedia tells me this was composed in 1945, some twenty-five years before Vavilov's composition, so I don't think the chord sequence itself can be attributed to Vavilov. Edit: having just done a little more digging, I came across "Blue Bossa", which Wikipedia tells me was composed in 1963. It looks like both Vavilov and Moore borrowed heavily from that tune.

@@ParaBellum2024 could you please give us a link on the performance or registration of this Ave Maria or just this melody before the 1970's vinyl of Melody Registration Studio (USSR) with the performance of Vavilov as a music of an "uncnown author" (wich further he delivered to singer Nadejda Drozdova telling her that it was Caccini's music and thus she performed it for the first time in the world and registraited it in 1975 also for the first time in history)?

Erik plays so well even in wooden shoes! So well done Erik! My father wore wooden shoes everywhere, I had wooden shoes here in Canada as a child. I thought nothing of it. My fathers and mothers ancestors were very poor and farmed the newly dried out lands in Holland, only they were not so dry, and it took years of hard work to make the farms productive. The second world war was so hard on them, and their families. After the war there was a period of stagnation, and many Dutch people decided to move to Canada. My mother and father met on the "Big Bear" ship (forgive that I can not spell in Dutch, I speak it but that is all) to Canada. They stayed in touch, and eventually got married. I am a son of that marriage, and still like raw fish, eel, and all those things that people from the Netherlands ate. After a lifetime of hard work, my father passed, but my mother still keeps my brothers and sister connected to the past, that we don't waste money or anything else, that we are so careful with our resources. The time of poverty, during the war, that my mother experienced has not left her thinking. I am so glad that Holland has moved ahead, art, music and a better way of living prevails. For me, the way I was raised, starvation is around the corner. Maybe that is why I love the finer arts here in Canada. I will enjoy as long as it lasts. Thank you Tineke!
