Absolutely loved this. Stealth camping in a hedge in style with a bottle of wine. I'm in 👍 Cheers 🍷

A homely little hedge, in which to have a nice kip. Quite splendid!

Had me laughing out loud Mr T.O. !!! The Ploughmans, the hedge and Remoissenet Pere et Fils Gevrey Chambertin 2015 complete in glass bottle !!! 🤣😂 Fascinating to watch the developing relationship between hedge and human - highly influenced and correlated to, it appears, the increasing consumption of wine 🤣😂 And West Kennet Long Barrow is amazing. Thanks for bringing us along. 👍

Thanks Giles! It's an odd jumble of themes between the tweed, the walking, the Neolithic history, the tarp pitching, the Gevrey Chambertin and the gushing about hedges... Perhaps it can be filed under "eclectic"? Incidentally I think your usual setup would have worked well in this space. It's great having that flexibility, whereas a tent is obviously of fixed dimensions and it either fits or it doesn't.

Love this film .... I ate too many Linda MacCartney burgers after I couldn't sell them at the school BBQ. Shocked to see them make a cameo here, otherwise a really fab story

Wow thanks Jeremy, high praise indeed! Although sorry about the Linda McCartney triggering.

Thanks OMW! I learned that Autumn Equinox isn't a big event at Avebury but that didn't matter, I was happy to have any excuse to go there again and explore the surrounding area. I've actually never been inside West Kennet Long Barrow before, I found that really impressive. As someone who loves walking and ancient history I love how intertwined they are at Avebury - it's surely no coincidence that the Ridgeway brings people here (and has done for millennia).

It’s a stunning area to walk, and so many walks with a lot of history. I agree with you about the ridgeway 👍🏻

I used to live near Avebury and my Mum still does, lovely and interesting area. I think I would be a little scared in the dark though, you are brave maybe the delicious wine helps 😊

Oh I'm envious, I would love to live in that area! I would be lying if I tried to pretend I didn't occasionally get a bit jumpy when out alone in the dark but I think at least some part of my brain knows it is almost entirely irrational. Yes the wine definitely helps!

@@tweedyoutdoors yes I do love visiting as much as possible. I’m over Cambridge way now again another lovely area. We go on night walks in the village but I am always swinging my torch about trying to be brave but you can’t beat the peace and quiet.

The barrow was interesting. Saw very similar in Korea, although not nearly as ancient.

Camping in a suit! Love this. Only the English right? I think i was driving past your sight while simultaneously screaming and praying that I’d make it through all the turnabouts here. This hedge feels like home. Haha 🇬🇧

Fun fact, if you Google for 'man made hill' the first result is Silbury Hill. I know because I just did it.

@@tweedyoutdoors I wanted to know if a man made hill has a special word, like a man made river is a canal, or a man made lake is a pond or a reservoir. Nope it's just man made hill. Which seems surprising given how old this example is. On the other hand if there are so few maybe there's just no call for it.
