It’s my first week in my hobonichi Avec! This week we are taking a look at my first pages as well as my companion notebook and a new fountain pen!

Washi taping the ruler is a great idea. You can also take a smoother (fine) for nails and smooth the edges of the paper by buffing the size

I can totally relate to mood /not connecting with book when not starting the day with pen to page; I don’t do mornings pages or write just at end of day, I find it is easier for me to come to the book first thing to clear my mind for the day and then throughout the day if something comes up for me - positive actions, fun, sad, etc. - I support my well-being via the daily pages. Thank you for sharing how you were kind to yourself with a sofa-day when you needed it on Sunday. I have stopped punishing or guilting myself when I need more sofa time and have found this has allowed me to have space to getup and actually get more done for myself on non-work days despite living with disability. Congrats on 2k subscribers, I too am new subscribers from last month 🎉 With regards to your goals notebook, I can also relate, I decided to start on a large sheet of brown packaging from orders, as “brain extraction space”. I folded the paper in half horizontally, in thirds vertically, to map out 6 areas of my life. As something comes to me, I slowly build/write what I would like for myself in those areas and what I have achieved so far this year (to support my winning for myself - life can be hard to forward think when everyday is challenging so counting the wind helps), taking my time putting this together on a rough draft takes the pressure off getting it wrong/messy in a nice new notebook. I can transfer when I am ready and clear with my thoughts. Thank you so much for this wonderful message! I love the idea of a “brain extraction space”. We all need that from time to time. Also a bit of private space (especially now that I share so much of my journals online) I am really seeing the benefit of taking my time and being kind to myself in these pages. Our weather in the Gulf Coast US - has mostly been partly cloudy to thick blankets of clouds/showers, stormy but I’m ok with that because a good bit of the country has been savage heat

your stalogy def looks (to me) like it was professionally cut! do your fountain pens bleed on the stalogy paper? i found mine would feather and bleed a lot. your avec is so gorgeous!! thank you so much for sharing! 💛

Thank you! You are too kind! I have experienced some feathering but only on wet inks in medium nibs. Not had any bleed through but I’ve only been using fairly light inks so far. I’m not too fussed with minor bleed through though. Xx

The US spelling of Pelican is with a C. But I sometimes intentionally use the British spelling of certain words like colour instead of color, etc. beautiful pens!

Thank you! I think the K is the German spelling as it’s a German brand and I just went to default English spelling of the bird! Haha.
