Interesting! Have you tried the Drum Roll feature in Korg Gadget 2? It’s the little square grid in the top left corner of any drum gadget. It’s kinda like this, but on a X/Y pad. You just choose the genre, press record and go ham on the X/Y pad. It’s generative, but you can mix and match complexity in real time to make it your own. You could either export the midi or copy/paste into the Taipei gadget for midi out. Dope channel, just discovered it…in binge mode!

I don't know if I'd call it a "cheat code". That would imply that the plugin gives one an *unfair advantage.* Advances in technology are *supposed* to make tasks easier, that's a big reason *WHY* inventors/scientists continue to pursue even greater technological advances than previously discovered. No one said it was cheating when humans went from horse drawn carriages to automobiles or from the typewriter to Microsoft Word (or whatever word processor that tickles one's fancy).

It's cool for what it is and could be a good source of inspiration. I fear though that some people might start leaning a little too much on these kinds of tools instead learning their craft, which is funny because it's the same kind of stuff "real" musicians used to say when samplers and hardware sequencers first came out.
@dugnice
@dugnice 4 жыл бұрын
I don't know if one can lean too much on these kinds of tools, because they all still require *SOME* knowledge of music theory, as well as creativity and originality. That said, I generally consider these types of plugins as being targeted primarily to newbies in music production. As they become more experienced, it will become just another *OPTION,* rather than something relied upon.

The iOS version is identical and it is great to know that using the one shots is its strength according to your statement! There is a way to directly connect it to Riffer via Ableton Link on the various platforms including iOS that I have not tried yet. The capability to save and export patterns is the only thing desired for the price. Thanks for sharing this video! 💯🏆🍑👍🏾

I have Drum Sequencer in Reason, plus I love using my brain making new exciting drum patterns within my tracks. I have a personal technique I use. I don't need this, nice though. The real set back is why they make only 4 parts to put your sounds? That made no sense, at least 16 should of been put there. That would of been dope. This is good for someone that don't know how to really do finger drum patterns. This will make you kind of lazy (sorry for that DJ Ave). Question how do you separate each of the four sounds to a separate track in your DAW? Can it explode? Peace
@dugnice
@dugnice 4 жыл бұрын
It will only make one lazy if one *relies* on it. Even if it does make one lazy, would it *really* matter, as long as the end result is good music?

@@dugnice And you really think that? Wasn't music great before this thing came along? not just good but GREAT music was made. Either you support lazy or not! I don't want it, I use my mind like I have always than to rely on this. Have at it. you don't have to explain to me. :-)

@@rahim4411 1. Lighten up a little. If it's not for you fine, but there's no *need* to shame others who may have an interest in the software. If others want to be lazy, *LET THEM.* 2. I personally have no interest in this plug-in, as I don't see a *need* for it. That said, I am all for anything that makes life easier and more options that helps achieve that goal, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

Certainly, question would be, does the Playbeat AI add anything that makes it more appropriate to randomize for drums, as opposed to FL Randomizer not being coded for drums necessarily. But it would likely take quite a bit of testing to try and really determine a difference, if any at all. You also likely don't have a means to automatically loop and regen a new random pattern like this does to easily create infinite patterns, capture them in the track, and save the desired ones to use. Maybe not huge, but something. All of these tools offer options to get people into different creative space, and the space is getting crowded as Reason Drum Map, Rhythmiq, Rhygenerator, Harvest, etc. are competing to help out.

Tbh the same could be said for all rompler companies because their sample based. People are choosing to attack studiolinked for whatever reason. Nexus has several sounds directly taken from Access Virus synth. Omnisphere literally has an expansion based on the sounds of vintage keyboards called "Keyscape". Riffer is a totally different tool with a totally different purpose.
@nodz007
@nodz007 4 жыл бұрын
@@AveMcree I know its a totally different. I just think Riffer does a better job. In normal situations it would be ridiculous having your kick pitching up and down so dramatically like a yo-yo unless you were using the tool to create some kind of fill. It's a good tool for percussion but Rfifer does a better job of it imo Once you pitch the sample so its playing the correct note, you can randomize the percussion so it stays in key. Try it. :) . I get the point of randomizing drum patterns. I like AudioModern's ideas and will probably buy it when it gets knocked down to around $19 which is what I bought Riffer for. Peace.
