You can drag and drop from host/ controller mode on the MPC ONE original. I do it all the time .

I was just about to say exactly what you said, when the unit first dropped it didnt have the capability, people claimed it was because it was a lower tiered unit compared to the other akai models. But after one of the millions of updates, they fixed it.

After years of using the MPC I still dont name my tracks like a knucklehead. Im just fortunate that I usually remember what's what. This is actually a VERY useful tip!!

@docwhammo you'll get used to it. It'll become 2nd nature once you do. And there's always multiple ways to do every single thing which is what I like. No 2 MPC users do things the same way.

Track explode saves a lot of time. I can just go back in and name them. Makes track muting so much easier of the individual drum sounds

I appreciate your work! Really great tips and it goes into the details. Thanks Ave! I’m in the process of buying my first MPC and this helps me to find out the differences in workflow and capabilities of the gear. I’m between key 37, key 61 and MPC one plus. With the key 61 I would get much more plugins so the higher price is justified. BUT it takes more space and I really like the SD card slot of the other models. So, a really hard decision🥹

Great video! 1 thing I did want to chime in on, you CAN host the SD card to your computer from the Key37, only caveat is you MUST open the MPC Software on the Mac/PC (Mac in my case) so it recognizes the MPC. Once the MPC itself goes back to the main screen you'll see your SD card pop up as a drive on the computer so you can drag and drop stuff in and out of it. As soon as you close the program or hit Standalone on the MPC it will disconnect your SD card, so you have to make sure you eject the drive from your computer BEFORE going back into standalone mode. Weird little set of extra steps but it saves you from having to move cards back and forth and buy extra readers.

I'm very grateful for the time you took to make this video. It will be extremely valuable as I bought a 61 two weeks ago. I told my music production partner it should take me as long to get a feel for the o.s.,but I discovered that wasn't a realistic estimate. I have to learn this device feature by feature to become functionally proficient to make the music we plan to make. This and your other videos among those of others, are essential to that process for me. THANK YOU!!

Good looking on the QLINK Edit tip. If you set up your effects correctly you can almost emulate an SP404. Air Flava Pro and Flex Beat together. Regarding the metronome. I don't know if you can do it on key 37. On LIVE II, if you hold shift + Play start you can turn on and off the Metronome. Menu + Pad 14 at all times. Salute Ave.

Love your videos, learning a lot. I had a question, when I first got my akai mpc 37, I made a few beats and I loaded a bunch of drum programs from the factory kit, so now when I load that song it takes super long and gives me a message memory is low, I loaded a bunch of the drum programs just to listen to them and only ended up using one of them, is there anyway to get rid of the ones I am not using and just keep the one I am using

When creating loops from vinyl I wish I could assign the start and end points to ONE Q-link set instead of to switch back and fourth between sets 1 and 2. Is there any way to customize this? I also want to lock the start and end points and move the loop across the file with a Q-link. Does that exist?

Do a review on the Adobe AI music prompting tool if that is interesting for the channel! The technology is good enough to use... not sure how "great" it really is. Either way I think its important that ai music tools compliment the ai art tools. New era where everyone has the same ability to generate free content that is good enough to serve its purpose. Exciting times!

Dude, you should really get your cam resolution sorted out. It's becoming a joke at this point. There's really no excuse for this 720p crap that doesn't allow your audience to visually follow what you're doing. And you call yourself a tutor? Shame on you. You HAVE the MPC knowledge, you HAVE the MPC experience. Still, you're cutting yourself short with these amateur visuals that forces people to look elsewhere to learn the MPC.

"I just got the MPC One+, and it's a bit of a mess. When I tried to use it with the software on my Mac, it started playing sounds as soon as I pressed the record button. Then I realized that all the buttons were triggering sounds, and when I pressed a pad, it would trigger two sounds simultaneously. I've been searching for a solution but haven't found one yet. Additionally, when using it as a plugin, MIDI triggering only works for one thing at a time. For example, if I have drums on track 1 and try to add a bass on track 2, it won't respond - there's no MIDI triggering for the second instrument. Has anyone else managed to get this working?"
