I use it since June (I live in France), I was excited about the marketing claims and I find it really great for the body. Here in France the price is quite good since the bottle is relatively large (perfect for the body again). But I do not like it for my face : it makes my eyes cry the whole day (I wear contact lenses maybe that is why) and I find it too greasy (and my skin type is quite balance though, not that oily). So I stay with my Asian mineral sunscreen for my face (currently using the Some By Mi TrueCica which is quite good for Acne Prone Skin).

I've used this sunscreen before! In my country you can find it for around 12-15€, in some shops it's a little bit more expensive. I have to say that on August I decided to not use it because it's warm and humid and it would not sit well on my combination skin. So I'm not sure if people with oily or combination would enjoy it that much. I exchanged it for the Nivea shine control spf50. I would sometimes apply the Avène one on my body because it would leave a beautiful glow. But I will definitely keep using it again on my face now on fall and winter. ❤️✨

@@heatherdarl1496 saame 🤚🏻😭 idk if it helps or if you have already tried this, but what I would do while using this sunscreen (and other oily or heavy ones) was use a hydrating serum and just put the sunscreen on top. Been using this sunscreen for months, and, yes, it has its caveats, but it's also the best sunscreen I've ever used. It has helped me reach even toned skin, which I credit the triasorb for doing. I have brown skin, so the I wanted the visible light protection. I'm so glad I stuck with it because I can now see the payoff. Also, you don't need to apply much of this sunscreen. It's thick and spreads beautifully, and because of that I don't have to use a huge amount that would cause the yellow tint or greasy look people complain about.

Protecting your skin from the blue light is not necessary a good thing. Blue light is used to treat some skin conditions like jaundice (due to favism or gilbert) and acne (in the combination with riboflavin). So its logically to say that switching to this sunscreen might worse overall look of the skin for someone who has the problem with yellow tint of the skin (subclinical jaundice) or prone to acne. We might know soon but for now its just for a note.

Mine just came today after I ordered it after your review and I am doing a patch test to make sure I'm not allergic to it (my rosacea skin is so touchy) because I plan to make this my main sunscreen for my month long trip to Africa starting in a couple of weeks were there will be lots of sun exposure. I hope that this, plus my hats, gloves, and sun screen clothing will do the job!

It's worked well for my sensitive/mild rosacea skin and has been pretty moisturising and even had a soothing effect on drier areas i.e. around my eyes. I mix it with a tinted Avene facial spf to combat redness around my nose and give a slight glow without giving too much colour to my fair skin. Hope it works for you! 🤞

I ordered this because my Rituals Sun Protection Face Cream 50 sunscreen ran out. I received it this morning and I really like it! It was a little difficult to find because I'm from the Netherlands. I'm glad I listened to you and gave it a try, because the skin around my eyes is very sensitive and most sunscreens (including the Rituals one) burn when they seep into my eyes - but the Avène Intense Protect doesn't! It made my face a little shiny but I probably applied too much of it because I was too enthusiasitic to try it. Thanks for the recommendation, Dr Dray!

Thank you for this video! I bought it and cannot wait for it to arrive! My favorite is Skin Aqua's Moisturizing Milk, but I have to be careful around the eyes due to the octinoxate. I desperately need sunscreen for that area, and my eyes do not like mineral sunscreens either.

Hi Dr Dray, Ive use it during the summer! Unfortunately I start having allergies on the nose, and over time whenever I put it in the skin minutes later it started to itched. So I stopped and went back to normal mineral from the same brand. At least for me it didn’t work, but it was super invisible and super moisturising. I think my skin didn’t like some ingredient.

I have used a few products from Avene and their products burned my face. I couldn't believe it since it's a brand for very sensitive skin. So I'm leery about trying this

I'm sure it will be introduced in Canada along with the Intense and High Protection formulas of spf by Avene. By the way the Avene moisturizer you recommended in a recent previous video is changing my life around my red irritated skin issues and Tretinoin. Thank you!

I sure hope so because Canada seems to be dragging its feet on the modern filters as well. There are only a handful of sunscreens available in drugstores here containing them and they are not the best sunscreens either cosmetically speaking

I was so excited to try this sunscreen and ordered it online to Canada. It’s greasy as heck (for my combo skin), but I found a way to make it work so I can still get some of that visible light protection. The drying alcohol in the Skin Aqua Japanese sunscreen (the “gel” one in the gold/white packaging) really helps to counteract the greasiness when applied first. My new full sunscreen routine, letting each layer properly dry in between, is Skin Aqua, a small amount of Avene, and Tizo 2 & 3 (tinted and non-tinted) mixed together for my right shade on top. You’re not supposed to mix sunscreens but with the others underneath, I feel that this is okay to do. I finally found a sunscreen routine that makes me want to apply my sunscreen everyday! Thanks Dr Dray for your recommendation of this and the Skin Aqua! I went from never wearing sunscreen to wearing it everyday at age 26.

Thank you ! Ordering from Canada. I wanted a chemical sunscreen that has blue light filters too. I developed an allergy/itching to mineral sunscreens recently. Currently using La Roche Posay anthelios and enjoy it.

Thanks, SO appreciate all your helpful information!!! I was wondering if you have considered doing a review of NIOD products? People seem to be raving about it, and it sounds very advanced, scientific and cutting edge, however does it really work? Would be great, thanks!!

I've been using this one for months now and can safely say that it's not the one for me. I would recommend it for winter or on case one has really dry/dehydrated skin. Mine is moderate to combination in summer and this sunscreen can be a bit heavy and greasy. I always need to powder on top. Unfortunately it stings my eyes too. The huge bottle is a blessing and a curse - I can hardly get rid of it! I can't save it for next autumn-winter either as it expires 6 months after opening. Sigh!

Warning! This can stain your clothes. I bought this for my vacation in the South of Italy and the tint (mine was more yellow on the skin than yours it seems) made stains on my bathing suits that I can't get out. So disappointed. It is effective though, did not get burned at all, while I get sunburns very easily.

I've developed a severe intolerance to sunscreen on my face, even 100% mineral ones cause me to react with itchy blisters and swollen patches of skin. A Dr recommended this and I've had no issues at all so far. It is very shiny on my oily skin but I just powder over the top to dry it down to a nicer level

I remember asking you to review this on Tiktok weeks back, what a treat to see it on my feed! I’ve been using this sunscreen for a few months and it’s very, very emollient and does not sit well underneath makeup. However, I don’t mind since I have drier skin and beats finding/paying for tinted sunscreens IMO. I noticed my hyperpigmentation doesn’t last that long, and it may be due to the added visible light protection. I have sensitive skin, and had no issues with it or clogging of my pores. I’ve had the bottle for about 4 ish months and have a quarter left, mind I use this alongside the P20 spf for makeup days. The avene is good for everyday spf for visible light protection and you get lots of product, will purchase again!

Hello my much loved Dr. Dray! Happy New Year! May you be successful in all your endeavors! I purchased this new Avene sunscreen and was so excited to try it. I've used it for two days now and I feel like it's too greasy for my face. Perhaps it's because I've grown very accustomed to my favorite sunscreen, La Roche Posay Shaka SPF 50+. Of course i plan on finishing it. Do you have any recommendations for a sunscreen similar to Shaka, but a little more moisturizing? Thank you.💖 Hello and all the best to your mom and Tybee.

This is a great sunscreen. And it leaves a healthy glow. No alcohol either. Favorite sunscreen I’ve tried so far. I also use Skin1004 Hyalu cica and that one is much lighter consistency. But I prefer this one
@samanthal70514 ай бұрын
Does it work in the summer though when it's 30+ degrees and humid? It looks like it would immediately melt off. I don't know why all sunscreens have to be "moisturizing". Who needs moisture in the summer when it's 80% humidity. Still looking for a sunscreen I can use in the summer...
@LowIQangel11114 ай бұрын
@@samanthal7051 This one’s probably not for you because it’s very moisturizing and a bit oily, I use it in the summer, in Spain, doesn’t melt off or feel heavy just glowy finish. Anthelios Invisible Fluid by La Roche Posay is very lightweight but denat alcohol is the second ingredient.

L’Oréal never got Mexoryl SX approved in the US, if they did, you would see it in every single one of their sunscreens cause there’s a lack of good UVA filters in the US. They simply got a bunch of formulations containing Mexoryl SX approved(most of which have already been discontinued ‘cept for 1) they did this via the new Drug application, it is not even on the FDA’s monogrph, it’s so expensive to do this and limits the way you can use the filter & it just isn’t worth it, if L’Oréal was going to spend all that money, they would have been better off getting it on the FDA’s monograph but it often costs like a billion dollars to get a new drug approved

I am using this sunscreen right now with the current heatwave we have in Italy and I think it performs really well as Dr.Dray says. Yes, it is not the lightest I’ve tried, however it doesn’t seem to clog my pores and it absorbs pretty easily. I am not using any makeup at the moment because it’s too hot for me. Do you think this could aggravate acne in the long run because it’s heavier? I like it so far.

This is exciting and sounds like a first that may offer protection for those with porphyria. My son has EPP- sunscreen doesn’t help because the light range for porphyrin activation is somewhere btw 400-450nm. So wer just trying the Avene triabsorb to see if he gets any relief from the symptoms of pain and swelling from sun exposure.
