Yes you have to listen to the live in the LBC version , actually the whole live in the LBC show, absolutely incredible. His screams (M Shadows) as well as the vocals and screams from the rev ,while playing the drums are out of this world. Plus the combined with their musical talent and backing vocals by the other members will make you realize just how talented and special this band was then and still are . The rev is definitely missed and was irreplaceable.

the drums in all of their songs just * chefs kiss * the lyrics in this song you got on point he did die and realize he doesn't want to be there because there is so much that he wanted to do and say that he regrets not doing. you should check out an artist named HYDE, DEFEAT, PANDORA, OUT, Lion, WHO'S GONNA SAVE US NOW, are all pretty good stuffs
@michaellind9650 Жыл бұрын
To me this more speaks of a near death experience, getting a taste of heaven but can't stay here, he needs to fight for his life because he isn't ready to die just yet, but hopes they accept him back when it truly is time
@poggerwhite4 ай бұрын
Basically my interpretation of the song is someone died unexpectedly and woke up in Heaven. They mustve died very young "Got nothing against you, and surely I'll miss you, this place full of peace and light, but I thought you might, take me back inside when the time is right" its not that they dont like it there, but that they feel it isnt their time to be there yet

One of Avenged Sevenfold's best songs... but the lyrics are a bit prophetic, because it was the last record released by the band in 2007 before the untimely death of their drummer Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan in late 2009 from a prescription drug OD at age 28. Formed in 1999 in Orange County, California... Avenged Sevenfold was a part of the metalcore scene that included the likes of Bleeding Through, 18 Visions, Atreyu, etc... M. Shadows (lead vocals), Synyster Gates & Zacky Vengeance (guitars), Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan (drums + vocals) and Johnny Christ (bass) solidified the line-up by 2003... their 3rd album 'City of Evil' was released by Warner Bros. in 2005 and became a platinum hit as M. Shadows began taking singing lessons to expand the band's sound and appeal ... 4th album (self-titled) was released in 2007 and Avenged Sevenfold became a live attraction on tour. Their "skull and batwings" logo is basically a plagiarism of Overkill's 'skull and batwings' logo, which dated back to the 80's... In 2009, Avenged Sevenfold spent months writing a new album 'Nightmare'... upon completion, the band was slated to record the following year, when drummer Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan was found dead from an OD. The band was devastated, but opted to return to the studio in 2010 to record 'Nightmare'... Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy played The Rev's drum parts and 'Nightmare' reached #1 on the US charts that year. Portnoy played drums on tour until Arin Ilejay (drums) joined Avenged Sevenfold in 2011. Their 2013 album 'Hail to the king' was another #1 charting success as Avenged Sevenfold toured successfully into 2015, and Arin Ilejay was replaced by veteran drummer Brooks Wackerman. In 2016, the band released 'The Stage' and began touring extensively w/ new drummer Brooks Wackerman... In 2023, Avenged Sevenfold announced a long-awaited new album 'Life is but a dream'.

I graduated high school in 2005, and it was around 2004 or 2005 I think when I heard that Avenged Sevenfold had lost a significant portion of their fanbase because they changed up their style. I guess they had to change up their style a bit because I don't remember if it was the lead singer or The Rev's vocal cords that took significant, permanent damage screaming in their songs like that all the time and so they simply could no longer do that kind of stuff anymore, so their tunes started getting more melodic. Which is probably why this song sounds so much different than the other A7F song you've heard.

People rarely get what he’s trying to say here. From what others are saying in this experience, it is obvious that he will be accepted back into Heaven if he leaves. But, he has obviously left some good deeds undone and he wants the chance to go back and correct that. This is a plea to anyone who is not thinking of doing a good deed, to act on that impulse because we are not promised tomorrow. In other words, don’t hesitate. Do good while you still can. Whether this is a true depiction of the afterlife or not, the point is, if you have a good deed in mind, do it before you pass on and don’t have that option anymore.
