He's different on every album.. sounded the best on this album specifically imo. If fire had a voice it would sound like he sounds on Almost Easy, Scream etc. Just amazing. He is the irreplaceable element without question. Lots of guys can play everyone else's parts but no one has ever sounded like M Shadows

Brief history of Avenged Sevenfold: They were formed in Orange County, California and were part of the metalcore scene there in the late 90's/ early 2000's w/ peers like Bleeding Through... Eighteen Visions... etc. Their debut album 'Sounding the Seventh trumpet' (2001) was released on an indie label... the line-up solidified in 2003 w/ M. Shadows (vocals), Synyster Gates & Zacky Vengeance (guitars), Johnny Christ (bass) and Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan (drums)... for the 2nd album 'Waking the fallen'. Avenged Sevenfold signed to Warner Bros. Records and streamlined their sound on 3rd album 'City of evil' (2005) and it went gold in the US (eventually platinum) w/ hits like 'Bat country'... 'The Beast and the Harlot' ... ''Seize the day'... 🤘🤘Success came again w/ the self-titled 'Avenged Sevenfold' album in 2007 which also sold platinum & scored the hit 'Afterlife'... as well as 'Almost easy' ... 'Scream'... 'Critical acclaim'. Tragically, while working on a new album, the band lost Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan (drums) to a prescription drug OD in 2009... They decided to record the next album 'Nightmare' (2010) w/ Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy... the album went to #1 on the US charts and sold platinum again... w/ the singles - 'Nightmare'... 'Welcome to the family' ... 'Buried alive'. Avenged Sevenfold hired Arin Ilejay (drums) in 2011 and recorded the next album 'Hail to the king' (2013) which charted at #1 and sold platinum again. However, the band decided to part ways w/ Arin Ilejay after the tour and replaced him w/ Brooks Wackerman (drums). In 2016, the band released 'The Stage' which featured longer, progressive songs... it charted at #4 in the US but sold considerably less... Touring was postponed after vocalist M. Shadows suffered an infection in 2018 and Avenged Sevenfold took a long hiatus while he recovered from his vocal issues... In 2023, Avenged Sevenfold finally announced their new album 'Life is but a dream'... which charted at #13 in the US.

sucks that it was the music video version instead of lyrics or just the audio. the music video removes an entire part of the song, including an amazing scream from the Rev. the song follows a person in Heaven who feels like they died too soon and they're talking to God saying that they haven't fulfilled their dreams/life, so they want to come back to Earth, but they hope that when they feel it is their time, God will take them back.
