I don't understand how anyone can hear this song and not feel some sort of emotional response. This is easily a top 3 song of their entire career. The instrumentals and the seamless transitions between the different vibes is insane.

The last lyric in this song always speaks the loudest to me. "I'm Gone" it's sang with with so much pain driving the sustain and then it fades out before the word is finished, rather abruptly. Something we will all think at the end of our lives when it's our last moment "I'm Gone"

At 7:43 they lose a quarter note. The song is in 4/4 (common time) and then as they transition they have one measure that's short a note. Going from calmness to high intensity with that kind of transition is pure magic. It trips up the listener in a great way. It's like having an instantaneous palette cleanser.

Basically 4/4 to 3/4 back to 4/4. Also pretty sure the drums play double time at that point

Not sure what you're talking about, there is no missing beat. This whole section is in 4/4. If you want to count the beats in double time, the high note of the synth pattern lands on 2 and 4. I think the structure of the synth pattern is throwing you off, there is no missing beat before the mellotron/heavy drums kick in.

I had the privilege of hearing this album before release at a listening party in Vegas and this was the song that stuck with me the most. It’s supposed to be a romantic song but I find that it doubles as a song that brings me comfort after losing a loved one. I lost my father and my wife lost her mother this year and it’s helped us both deal with that sudden emotional hardship.

I too was at that early release event in Las Vegas, I had tickets to the Sunday listening and I can tell you now, everyone felt that emotional connection to this song. Especially personally knowing what Syn’s been through the past year.. this song stuck with me most and it’s become my new #1 .. besides Save Me and I Won’t See You TonIght Part 1.

I've been listening to them since the Nightmare album. Synyster Gates and Zachy have ascended to god level with their playing ability. I love their song writing and the fact they are making the music the way they want to. Regardless of whether it is influenced by other music, that's the beauty of creation. Everyone will have their opinion on this album. Sadly, most of the negative viewpoints are missing the actual point of this album.

Mix on this album is dogshit 😂 People are trying soooo hard to bump it and act like its not a complete mess even from a production stand point. Album has nothing to say and it shows in the music. Not only that, when you take away the “hard rock” factor you realize how horrible Shadows vocals fall into a mellower mix, he becomes transparent in the music. He has no real “singing” voice so when they try, it just sounds like it clashes with the guitars. Its just a mess. Slipknots album was a mix disaster but this takes the cake.

@@turtlesmusicthoughts Rawness works when the raw talent can shine through. The vocals are so bad they cant even be articulated over the music. Not too mention the samples and synths are so loud it clashes with the drums and guitars. People who understand the music they’re trying to impersonate wont realize why its bad, compared to the source material. They only hype it because its A7X, its just as bad if Five Finger did this, then you would all have my opinion lol
