Ever since I heard this song, I have had this strange and strong sense of anxiety and unease. Listening to this album and this song in particular spoke to me in a very strange way, it's sticking to me in a way that none of their other songs, from any other album, has. Whenever i listen to this song i cry, it really hits me hard and makes me think of my family, my little 2 year old son in particular. Whenever i hear it, I just want to hug him. That feeling was stronger after I realized this song is about 2 souls existing throughout eternity, over and over again throughout different incarnations, and no matter what lifetime or existence they are in, they always find each other. In some lifetimes their relationship is rough, and in other lifetimes they "get it right." They are destined to be together, and even though their physical bodies don't know each other, their souls are always longing and waiting to meet each other again. I don't think this is an exclusively romantic love, and can be interpreted as a paternal love, and it just makes me think of my sweet little boy and how much I love him dearly, and how it has always felt like he was always meant to be here with me.
@ZAXDJ Жыл бұрын
That's hard to hear, couldn't be easy for anyone. But yes this album is very much about facing death and inspired from a DMT trip. Personally I have done very very similar self work with Shamans in the past as M. Shadows describes in the various interviews i've seen now. The experience a lot going to the deepest parts of yourself find true healing. So those emotions you are feeling are probably evoke as the song was intended to do. Sometimes giving into those emotions is the best therapy. Life is beautiful and at the same time we can feel so hopeless and have no control. But we're all in this together and I know for a fact there's many other people have felt similar 😁🙏🤘❣️

Thank you for this comment. I have excactly the same feelings from this song. Every time I hear it, I think of my soon 3 year old daughter land the rough times we are going through together because of parental alienation from her mom. I will never stop seeing a bright future for me and my little girl though, and I will never stop fighting for her rights. The more I listen to this song, the more I accept life it feels like. Genius masterpiece.

I think itd be fair to say that this is their most emotional and illustrative rock ballad they've ever written. It truly feels like one's final moment of contemplation (in an optimistic manner) just before they die, and then, once the piano section ends (likely during their final breath, hence why the sensation of "relief" comes), they ascend (becomes quite clear with the huge ascending synth in the background) to the heavens and/or become energy (imo open to the listener's interpretations and beliefs) Also the guitar "screaming" constantly + quickly moving around back and forth in the vertical frets in the solo section makes it sound like the person's struggles and desperatly (and pointlessly) attempts of escape while the "reaper" comes to get them. They it ends when it finally does, in an abrupt but somehow calming transition to the piano section

I’m disappointed in some avenged fans claiming they have been diehard fans yet, they act so surprised that A7X are always different per album. How can you call yourself a fan but you’re still shocked that they always experiment every album? This is not news to anybody lol. They stated they don’t want to give the same material back to the fans because they believe it’s insulting to give the same thing back over and over and over again. I don’t get why a fanbase wants to sit there and claim a band doesn’t try anything new and when they do, you take back what you said and you instantly say you want them to sound back how they used to 20 years ago, and when they do that. YOU take back what you said again and you want them to be more original. Honestly, make up your goddamn mind!! 😬

💯 I can't see a true fan of this band not liking this song, if at least not just appreciating the art. But if you are expecting a band that's been around for over 20 years to sound exactly the same or make the same exact music all of those years later is not likely, and honestly refreshing to my ears that it wasn't just a copy and paste of what works. Because we know they can make what works simply, but they went the extra mile, love it 😁🤘❣️

You know friend, I'm not as much the "hater"as I probably come off as. Avenged Sevenfold was so successful with their usual style of music that I'm sure they are enjoying doing something different. The same thing with bands like Metallica and Megadeth "selling out" and playing a more commercial sounding style. This new Avenged Sevenfold is definitely not my cup of tea (except for Cosmic, I really like that one) but as you said, each to his own. What I'm hoping is maybe the next album will be a go back to their roots style album. Metallica and Megadeth always say they are going to do that. They never do. 😂. Who knows, maybe Avenged Sevenfold will fulfill part of my wish list and be the first band to make a heavy metal polka album. lol. Peace out and keep up the good work.....👍
