The vocals are from shadows. The song is from waking the fallen, after this album they stopped these kind of screams in city of evil. Definately you need to check i won't see you tonight part2 it's similar style or even heavier and the lyrics are very deep. Make sure to remember what part 1 is about and sounds like before you do it. Nice reaction!!

Couldn't agree more with this comment. Honestly I would recommend listening to part 1 right before reacting to part 2. I love part 2 so much though. Amazing song

This song had more punk rock influences with the arrangements, drumming n guitar style(pick slides), etc. of playing n even the "whoa" lyrics. Used heavily in earlier A7X n used often in(some Genres)of punk rock. NOFX has a song called whoa on the whoas I believe. Mocking punk that overly uses that lyric as a breakdown too often. Even if poking fun at bands they admire, it's NOFX....🤔😄

Avenged sevenfold - "The wicked end" or "the fight" to completely different vibes that you'll get from these songs Or if you want more a7x screamo check out "eternal rest" it has a ton of wicked energy, and I love how they ended it BTW "the wicked end" is from "city of evil" this song is from "waking the fallen

My introduction to Avenged was through this album, Waking the fallen. I immediately latched onto this because it was really different than what I was used to listening then, like Lamb of God, Disturbed, and tons of other bands. This album was really influential to the bands that came after 2000s . The melodies, breakdowns, song structure, vocal melodies, everything was different. And I think that helped the band to stand out. I guess the vocals were done by Matt himself. Jimmy and Synyster had this other band called Pinkly Smooth. You should check that out too.

Played with a true conviction. They firmly believe in what they've produced here. That makes it all the more essential listening. Love 'em or hate 'em. A7X command by the hard work alone, that we at least hear them out with an open mind. Stupid thing is, I can't remember details ! The brain just won't click into gear today. Never the less, that's my issue, not the bands or Randi's.

You're really hearing a ton of those hardcore punk and punk rock influences on this song. They're not as prominent as on the first album, but still there on Waking the Fallen. This song hasn't been explained or analyzed a ton, but I view it as a mix of annoyance at both religious people and anyone who has expectations of someone creating something important. It seems Matt was saying reverence devalues the meaning of what he's doing. Like projecting religious imagery into the band's music where it doesn't exist takes away from his actual messages, and criticizing the band for not making the music a person wants devalues their attempt to release something musically valid to them. He's not trying to pander to them and be dishonest about what he's looking to achieve. All of these people looking at him, praying that he goes to heaven or trying to get on his good side so he'll make music they want, don't really care about him and are just defiling his career by trying to put him into a box. They don't care that he's happy with what he does and what he wants to do. They just want him to be who they think he is and do what they think he's doing. They don't care that he gets to heaven or that he wouldn't be happy if he made sellout music for them, essentially. Friends should support what he's doing and be grateful for who he is. The vocals were all Matt, this song is a definite gem, and I'm glad you love it! 🖤
@BetterEveryDayYouTube3 жыл бұрын
Wow. I can definitely respect that! I can see the band's artistry. I can't imagine being in their shoes and feeling as though fans/friends etc. wanted this or that instead of just appreciating who they are/the music that they make.

@@BetterEveryDayKZbin Oh yes. Songs from the first 3 albums can be very direct, because a lot of people made Matt angry with how ungrateful they were. This song, Burn it Down, and Trashed and Scattered, from what you've heard so far. Matt's matured a lot as far as how confrontational his lyrics have been, but he seemed to be really angry as a teenager before he became the polite, friendly guy everyone knows now. That's definitely the angst you picked up on. He seemed to trust the fans more around the self-titled and Nightmare eras when he knew how many would be in it for the long haul. Waking the Fallen and City of Evil didn't give that security quite yet. The hardcore community was mad at the band for things as petty as having stage names and a mascot. A7X changing styles made those people completely livid.
