What the rev did basically being homeless after high school, keeping touch with drumming and having passion, the fact he did most of the writing and back up vocals, and I mean the good back up vocals… is just god given talent

When I hear the band talk about the older albums like City or Evil and Waking the Fallen, I get the sense that they have no desire to go back to that era. I totally understand the evolution musicians go through, but it is bittersweet. I’m excited for the future of Avenged Sevenfold but at the same time I want to keep hearing music that sounds like those older records.

I don't know for me no A7X has had a sound that was reminiscent of a previous album. They always try new stuff while still being A7X. The only album that didn't feel A7X for me was Hail to the King as it was much more basic than their other creations and felt only like a tribute album to old metal bands. But it was still a new sound for them. But I can't argue against City of Evil being one of their best together with the self-titled album.

i hope that one day they release the raw final mix of their albums, that would so cool to be able to sit down and either mix down their stuff in your own ears or even just mentally breakdown what’s going on behind the scenes. i know there’s an instrumental version of nightmare floating around, but to be able to have the final project files in wav format would be absolutely amazing. honestly this applies to all the bands i listen to, but definitely these guys! i’ve always wanted to be able to actually isolate certain components and be able to take in what’s actually going on, especially on solos and fills

i really appreciate the honesty with punching in parts of the solo, to hear sevenfold recorded like that makes me feel, i dont know, happy? Really brings things to a level playing field because though syn's talents are FAR beyond mine, when I would punch in certain technical riffs/leads part of me felt weird like "Im not good enough" while I though of myself as a decent player, when it came to recording I felt like I was a terrible player haha. Though I'd practice it enough to pull it off live, it's just really cool to be able to hear this from syn himself. Absolutely love these breakdown episodes!

Man, Syn talking about how he used to have trouble with solos back in the day is so humble. Because watching him live you'd swear what he does with his guitar is just inhuman talent.

It was such a blessing to see these guys play this with the Rev when the album just came out. I remember the Rev with his tie, syn with the fadora, Johnnys black and white spiked hair and a giant american flag in the background. Seeing those guys and how Well they performed back then made me realize, this is my generations Guns N' Roses. Incredible.

I can't wait for Revs breakdown with Brooks! And also use him on more The Stage breakdowns! These old songs are funnier with the old members since they were there and can share stories about the studio time. But I also want Brooks to be included so I want more The Stage so he can comment on it
