To me this song's message is that history will repeat itself, with the continuation of war. Great song
@ethanruiz88186 жыл бұрын
From what I can see it's showing all the atrocities of human history, and showing the modern day humans being entertained by the death destruction and them not caring about it (Them putting a thumbs down in the Roman one), and once it shows them on the stage it's showing how modern humans are the next atrocity for their carelessness for history, and then goes to show that all of their opinions are not actually theirs and are controlled by the governments of the world, and then because of their lack of taking it seriously history repeats (The big red button/nuclear war and a reset).
@therealjoshcollier5616 жыл бұрын
It can have many different interpretations- you can see it as how we/ the world views war, we are all puppets and are slaves to our 'rulers', nothing is really real I.e. Just a simulation and the seriousness and reality of war and suffering

well....i think the moral is politics control us,death controls everyone.
@johnbon67 жыл бұрын
Moral is the cycle of life and death. From the birth of man, to the birth of civilization, to the changes in eras, birth leads to death, and everything inbetween is justification leading to it. From killing to survive (Caveman), To killing for control (Pharaoh, Castle Burning, Witch burning, War), Killing for religion (Witch burning double meaning), to killing for entertainment (Roman Gladiators), to killing for power (Political figures at end controlled by death), that death is used to control populations, and everything leads to it. That's the purpose of the birds and flowers springing up from the battlefield, and the lone caveman at the end. That from everything that dies, something starts alone, new and innocent is inevitably going to kill and die. It's a cycle.

I got into it when I first heard it. I was riding home in my mom's car, asleep, after graduating my Tech School training to go on leave. I was super tired because I spent the whole night completely cleaning my stuff out the room and had to be out by 0400. Anyways, back to me being in the car. This song was fairly new and I never heard it. My mom heard it come on and turned it up a little. I snapped out of my sleep so quickly once I heard those drums in the beginning, and said "Holy shit those drums sound fucking good! Sounds a little like a song Avenged Sevenfold would make." Mom confirmed, and about 2 minutes after the song ended I downloaded it. Man, I was hooked from the first 5 seconds I heard those drums.

the whole identity of A7X with this album is that you need to give it multiple tries for your brain to process it, which I find extremely rare when it comes to music these days. Even Moonlight Sonata sort of sucked the first time I heard it, but when u give it another try, it builds on the platform that's been engrained, and gets better and better. just my 2 cents..fuckin love this band, they've got something most don't, and I'd put my savings on black that these dudes are just getting started.

Honestly the first time I heard this song I could tell it wasn't the same heavy the others were. But the message struck more with me, I love old school rock for the messages they say and this was no different. Lines like 'took the birth of sin to snake rattle the mind' or 'jesus christ was born to die, leave it to mankind to levitate his own and idolize'. Those lines speak louder then some do.

Hey dude, just a lil something that someone else mentioned in the official video I found, but at the beginning with the cavemen and the Egyptians (and a few other parts of the video). If you noticed you'll see posters on the side, just barely making the cut. The words end letters from top-down on the left and beginning letters from top-down on the right spell out the acronym "E.T.E.W.A.B.D" which means "Even the Elites will all be deceived". Just a lil something cool that adds to the video.

Your review of this song is exactly what they were going for when they wrote this song. They wanted a song to start the album that would be a good transition from their old stuff into the new stuff in this album, but would still hold with the theme of the album

Iam a huggggggggggggggggge fan of A7x. I have noticed one thing about our A7x is that, alot of people don't like A7X at first. Their music is kind of different, they are very creative and their way of representing their most of songs are like, you will be like umm okay as first impression. But, the more you keep listening to them, you will be hella addicted to them and understand how awesome they are.
@soakedbearrd6 жыл бұрын
Yeah i hated their first emo sound. But they have truly grown on me especially their last 3 albums. I think the new album is fantastic and this is coming from a metalhead somewhat purist. I think they have their own sound and aren't doing the whole grindcore/emo thing anymore.

if you were to check out Paradigm (the 2nd track) or really any of the other first five (creating god, god damn, sunny disposition) or tracks 8 and 9 (higher and roman sky) You'll be a bit more impressed. While this was a great turnaround from Hail to the King, and definitely showed how they were getting back to their self-titled and City of Evil roots, it also showcased their growth by adding elements of Diamonds in the Rough and Nightmare. Personally tracks 2, 4, 8, and 9 (Paradigm, God Damn, Higher, and Roman Sky) spoke to me the most. Also they fkin got Neil Degrasse Tyson to do a voice-over which he wrote specifically for their 15 min 11th and final track Exist. That's pretty badass too imo.

The first time I heard it I enjoyed it but wasn't too hot about it but the more I heard it the more I fell for the song, to me it really shows the range they have as musicians to go into those different feels and really nail it

this song took me a couple of listens to fully enjoy it, i think because like you said it was 8min long and the video, for me, made the song better. i always liked that they put it all out there, what a lot of people won't say. i think M Shadows voice is really hard for me to understand sometimes, but the rest of the album is really solid. been obsessed with Exist for the last.... however long this album's been out lol.

Great review bro! I mostly agree with what you have to say. In my opinion though, the intro matches the song nicely because it sets the mood for what's to come and I think that's super important for a song of such meaning! One question though: How long does it take to grow a beard of such beauty, from 0 to 100? Also, do you like the red-beard style? I originally had a black beard but now it's starting to get redder and redder as time passes (which I find freaking awesome!) and I'd like your view on it. Thanks for the video and if you keep up such great work, who knows! I might even throw a cheeky little sub your way.

You can't really critique the song if you haven't listened to the lyrics properly. The song is awesome, and very NOT vanilla. I would recommend perhaps revising your musical knowledge, and trying to brush up on it. I understand that you feel that you have to give both negative points and positive points when reviewing something, and I'm glad that you didn't just nod along to it and then end the video, but you should know that I disagree with most of your negative points.
