He loses because he's always distracted by the events of his present. When he finally conquers his entire universe he returns to the past with his heir and brings the peak version of The Avengers to their knees. It seems that they're combining the events of Avengers Forever, Kang Dynasty and Operation: Galactic Storm into one massive universal wide conflict. That Kang clearly orchestrated as Victor Timely, it took him about two decades to conquer the Badoon, shi'ar and Skrull, but the Kree empire isn't mentioned as a force considering the events of operation galactic storm happened in Kang's future world too. Which means he just know about the nega bomb and is the person manipulating the Avengers into spreading too thin in The Marvels. He doesn't usually lose to the Avengers. He's obsessed with cosmic entities to help him consolidate his powers across the multiverse. Specifically he obsessed with saving his love until he saw the only way to save her and conquer all of his enemies was to die himself. Unable to live with this outcome it caused the crack in time that eventually becomes Prime Kang. It's kind of sad that after this moment his heart really isn't in it. And before he becomes Kang as his much more antagonizing Rama-Tut and Centurion variants, he's just doing it for shits and giggles. But makes enemies of the time traveling heroes of that era. Of which three different groups have been introduced. The illuminati/fantastic 4, the Avengers, and agents of S.h.i.e.l.d./S.W.O.R.D. (entire shield cast returning for secret Wars was leaked by same source as Daredevil leak) once they introduce Mutant time travel (RACHEL SUMMERS OR WE BURN UTICA TO THE GROUND). To complete the circle with Tut-En Sabbah Nur, leading to all his defeats before he becomes Kang. He conquers the universe in his own time while trying to find legendary artifacts and beings across the "sacred" timeline (616) Mantis confirmed daughter of celestial, set up. Kree-Skrull war in the background coming into full light, I imagine they don't need to find homes for blipped Kree they're gonna go take over some. All the pieces are in place for the many variants of Kang to manipulate the many groups that united against the most powerful man in the universe to lose to it's smartest. Before anyone take about he's not even that smart. Question? How do you make a chemical reaction with matter smaller than atoms? Answer: electron go brrrrr. Genuinely we literally have no way of even beginning to understand the physics behind such an act and yet in a few decades he turned what was once a completely barren environment into a massive metropolis. (We were outright told quantum buildings are actually alive. Those aren't quantum buildings no mo...) He then achieves fusion and quantum computing from things smaller than the actual smallest components of that technology. Stark did it with a box of scraps. This man did it with quarks and neutrinos, with the tiny piece of dust left on a table after you clean it. In one single flashback he went from buff genius to the smartest man to ever appear in a marvel film (studios or other). I hope he gets his showdown with Cap in a burned down Washington DC to lose but still show how much The Avengers and in this case the greater universe had to sacrifice to take him down at his peak. He came to this era to fight the greatest warriors of all time. He was obsessed with how much was done but in his time this era is the dark ages and all those records are long gone. But when we finally see the peak Kang the Kang who actually conquered the Earth and The Avengers had to start causing mass casualties to stop him. Going hand in hand with the genocide in Galactic Storm is gonna be one hell of a ride.
