This is the first video I have seen where ducks are actually as a group ganging up on a predator they could not successfully tackle individually. Quite interesting to watch. That "serial murderer" was probably just a parent gull collecting food for his/her own chicks. Like a lot of other birds that directly feed their chicks for a period of time after hatching, seagulls catch food, swallow it, then return to their chicks and regurgitate it for the chicks to eat. Chances are excellent your "murderer" was feeding her own family and the ducklings were a good sources of food for her to do so.
