It is so good to hear that a lot of people walk the tougher sections of the Sooke. I was beating myself up for hike-a-biking the steeper sections. Now I know I'm just normal. An e-bike for bikepacking sounds like it may be the way to go for my aging knees.

It certainly helps out when you’re just not feeling it on a given day… I think of it as being a carpenter who likes to use all kinds of tools. One day you feel like using a handsaw and a hand drill and other days you just pull out the power saw and power drills!

Love my Ramblas! I agree 65ish miles using all three modes, not killing yourself. If you try and push the distance of the battery you can definitely get like 90 maybe 100 miles out of it.

@SequimBike yessir got 250 miles on it so far. Longest trip was 70 miles and that was a killer! Did part of the C&O canel trail, from harpers ferry to Washington dc. It's a wonderful trail bike!

I’m at 280 miles, I upgraded to Fox 36 float forks, tubless, Maxxis Minion DHR 2.6 in rear 2.4 ibn front, rides nearly as good as a Giant Trace X with more power and double the batt life.

Great video and review. What brand were the bags used on the front and attached to the seat post? Just got my ramblas and really liked this setup. Thanks.
@SequimBikeАй бұрын
@@0xCase_eth the front bag was the Topeak Tubular Barbag. The seat pack was my Revelate, but any of the bikepacking seat packs will work well. If you get the Topeak front bag you could match it with the Topeak Backloader X.

Great input. I am looking at this bike as well. I was hoping you were going to show us how to mount panniers without drilling holes in the frame. Does anyone have a clean solution?
@SequimBikeАй бұрын
@@tc6912 we mount racks all the time. There are two hidden bolt mounts on the inside of the seat stays down near the rear axle. The top mount is at the top of the seat stays on the bridge. No drilling required.

@SequimBike Thank you for your reply. Can a utility or child trailer also attach without hard modifications?
@SequimBikeАй бұрын
@@tc6912 They can with a longer Through-axle. Some trailer mounts are thick and the axle has limited threads, so you might need a longer axle to make it work best.

This looks like a great ebike, unfortunately it's not sold in Brazil, and the taxes to import would change the price so much.Let's hope one day Ramblas comes to Brazil!!!

We can’t speak on behalf of Aventon, but I bet they’re looking at Brazil because I know how important the world market is to them. We can both hope for your sake Ricardo. Hang in there and all the best to you!

It is not perfect the way it is. Fork is fine. Brakes are solid. Wheels are way too heavy. Prone to flats with the Rekons. I went to Hunt wheels with Vittoria Ebike rated Assagos. And ebike Cush core. Aventon took the cheap route on wheels by not providing tubeless set up. Everything else I like about mine.
@SequimBike6 ай бұрын
Great input Richard. Remember the goal was to produce the finest sub $3000.00 EMTB and make it crush everything in "this bracket." Keep in mind building bikes is always a compromise when you're given a "ceiling of a budget." I think they spent the money in wise areas; motor, drivetrain, brakes, battery, dropper, etc... Wheels and tires are an easy and simple upgrade and even after buying new ones, this bike still beats bikes that are much more expensive. I wouldn't say that Aventon took any "cheap" routes, they simply didn't have any other choice given the higher spec'ed parts they chose to give us consumers. I applaud any company that does the hard work to make something of quality that has a price for the masses. Remember the VW Bug? it was regarded as a cheap, junky and almost the most comical auto when they first came out. (think about the Mustangs, Camaro's, Corvettes, Chargers and all the other Iconic cars from roughly the same era that made the Bug look like a joke) However, I've never seen as many other vehicles produced and sold as the Bug. Nor have I seen any of those other cars finish the Baja 1000 in stock form. Sometimes something cheap can change an entire industry for the better. I believe we need both low cost and expensive so that everyone can be satisfied.
