I personally think, even if you don't have the DPS, pulling Aventurine could be more beneficial to your account, simply because you will get those Def relics with Crit stats while farming for main Dps relics

Eh that isn’t necessarily true. Once you have one or two sustains you literally don’t need anymore after that. A strong enough account can also ignore a sustain for MoC and PF entirely.

Going for Aventurine, Damage Blocking and Damage Mitigation is a bit more important than dealing damage since enemies seem to hit harder and harder now and potentially in the future, and any Simulated Universe Expansion bosses show that damage blocking / mitigation is vital. Also personally have always wanted Aventurine cause of the looks. Lore wise, Im just trying to collect all the Genius Society folks .

Jingliu is just a headache to play tbh. The Bronya buffs, for example, must be sequenced in the right order so Jingliu doesn’t waste them. Plus speed tuning sucks ass. Whereas your follow-up DPSes (Clara and Topaz) can just unga bunga pretty much, and in that aspect it’s clear that Aventurine is the better choice.

Yep that’s why I’m glad I got Acheron instead. Just have Pela and Silver Wolf use their ults and then Acheron wipes the field with hers. Doesn’t need to be her turn and no strict speed tuning shenanigans.

I haven't played the game in a while and just returned to it a week ago and I have been stressing over the upcoming banners. This video has helped me a lot by sorting out my thoughts. I will pull for Aventurine since I have no tanks apart from fire trailblazer and despite wanting to pull for Jinglu, I have decided not to, because I believe you are absolutely right, future characters are going to be more meta and there are always going to release new dps. I just got Acheron and have to level her up. And since Dr. Ratio plays well with Aventurine I hope to level up Dr. Ratio as well. Thanks for the video!

I have most things I need in this game. When Jingliu was first here, I skipped her for Topaz, but this was always a pretty tough decision, and in fact before I really saw what Topaz could do I had decided to roll for Jingliu. I went with my heart, with my gut, I went with what felt better. But my plan was always to roll Jingliu when she came back... And that hasn't changed. Unfortunately, like most people who play this game I really fell in love with Aventurine's character, and I love follow-up teams and also could really use a shielder. So I'm in a tough spot, and I kind of hope that I can get both. But for love, I can't forsake my ice princess a second time. It helps that I also need ice as an element though.

I have gotten e2s1 Acheron but I'm still pulling for Aventurine. His 2.1 story got me sold for him and I really love seeing his fua animation. Also planning to get his sig so that he can be a sub nihility support for my Acheron. I am fortunate to start playing Hsr during the end of Fu Xuan banner so Jingliu was my first 5* that I pulled for. She's still just as broken as she was at launch. If you can, I recommend getting her even if you already have Acheron as she is like the ice version of Acheron. Both has so much self buffs and can brute force. Imo she is one of dps that is worth pulling for on the rerun.

More newer enemies hits very hard. Like sam,meme(meme can buff itself. If u can't break its toughness bar in time or dispel its buff and u don't have fuxuan. U can kiss bye bye to one of ur character),that freaking monkey who can one shot u,the chef dinosaur (while it's weak against dot. But not everyone play dot. So if it breath that fire. U can see 60-70% of ur character HP just gone like that),that swarm weekly boss and aventurine (if u fail on the dice part. U can see him hit u like a truck). So having aventurine who has like permanent thick shield is so valuable. He can make ur battle so much easier cuz even if they create new enemies u still won't die cuz aventurine shield is just that thick. While having DPS is good but u can find strong DPS easily but strong sustain who has like fuxuan strength or even stronger than fuxuan is hard to come by. Some say "the strongest offensive is the strongest defensive". If the enemies can't kill u eventually u will kill the enemies.

Great video break down. I was planning to pull for Jing Liu for Ice dps but after Acheron she is also able to cover all elements. I have a Kafka Black Swan dot team to handle Lightning and Wind damage. Adventurine will be my last piece for my Follow Up team.

Imho, you are mostly correct and I do agree with a lot of your analysis. But what I would say, with regards to the future investments, and because you mentioned Aventurine having the IPC backing him, this is a very good argument for the IMMEDIATE future. - But the distant long run I would argue the same with regards to Loucha and his ties to Jingliu. They all have open ties for the future and the future involvement of the Xianzhou Loufu. Don't forget that the whole involvement of the Trailblazers with the Loufu was for the purpose of making the Loufu indepted to them, and we still have the connecton between Jing Yuan, his former master and Loucha. Furthermore: As I have been arguing, ever since the "simultanous" release of Jingliu and Topaz & Numby, I am of the opinion that they both are enablers of a special kind. Topaz & Numy enable follow-up attack. And Jingliu has one aspect, which STILL hasn't been adressed that much, although we already have hints and the knowledge, which stems from the F2P Lightcones for the destruction characters that Hoyoverse intends the path of Destruction to get buffed via the decrease of the HP of their respective charakters. This decrease is often dependent on the effect by the characters themselves. Only Jingliu has the benefit of decreasing the HP of OTHER characters, which makes her and her LC an investment for the very far future ahead. But this being said: I, too, have exactly the situation, which you were pointing towards, having Black Swan, Kafka, Acheron, and so on. And I don't think that there are that many things that will come up in the immediate future, which will push her further. Her immediate future looks bleak, and I think we will have to take a few corners, and the meta will have to make multiple shifts, especially in the direction that you have hinted at, before she can become the kind of enabler with multiple destruction units within the team, as I have hinted it.

I started playing pretty recently, encouraged by Sparkle's trailers. I got the Fool and I'm running her with Qingque, but I'm struggling to plan out on which banners I should try pulling on to build a second team. - On one hand, there is Archeon, but I would probably need to run her without her lightcone (unless I get lucky) in a team with E4 Sampo and E2 Pela. Does not sound that great. - On the other, Jingliu seems like an easy to build unit that could help me with clearing early MoC, PF, and SU, but she will probably hit her ceilling much quicker. - And then there is Aventurine, which could pair nicely with Dr.Ratio and could help "renew my definition" about FuA teams later on. What do you think would be the best course of action, considering I'm currently at 70/90 pity after loosing 50:50?

If I were you I think I'd get Jingliu first and then try to get Aventurine since you should be able to reach at least one more pity before the version ends. There will be an announcement for new upcoming characters in the second part of the update so maybe you can wait for that if you're not in a hurry...

Acheron is simply the best character in the game right now. She is game breaking with her lightcone and eidolons, but she will fare incredibly well better than all other DPSes without their signature light one. Go for her. Next course of action is getting aventurine or fu xuan in her rerun for a good sustain.

I’ve been able to clear MoC with 36 stars and Pure Fiction at 12 stars without Jing Liu. It’s a bit more challenging at times but there are work arounds for each mode. For me having a e6 Herta and e6 Misha filling the Jing Liu in each mode works just fine for me and it allows me to use a variety of characters which I enjoy being able to do. Therefore, even though I have a good number of sustains with Fu Xuan and Luocha. Adventurine is a good pick for me so I can begin rotating out Luocha when I need damage instead of healing. Plus I want to be able to build a FU team with hopefully Jade filling in either as a solid support or an alternative dps to Dr. Ratio (refuse to replace Topaz and Numby)

I think DPSes have a faster “expiration date” which might only be extended if they happen to benefit from new supports. I think the most meta-based efficient way to pull is to get 2 limited sustains, as many limited harmony as you can, and 2 DPSes that you refresh every 0.75-1 year unless you got characters/lightcones that improved that DPS’s team. For example, I pulled Seele in her first banner and she was falling off, but I pulled her light cone on her rerun and then I got Sparkle so she’s doing decent- otherwise I think I’d have pulled for Acheron this patch

I have a lot of FUA Units built (Topaz E1S1, Ratio, Jing Yuan, Clara, Blade) and I like FUA so Aventurine is my pull. The DPS I have now work pretty well, though Jingliu is still a "maybe." If the trend of "IPC Units are follow-up units" continues, I'd say Aventurine plus what I have now would be suuuper solid for anything going forward. What I'll probably do is: wait for Aventurine to be fully out and folk look him over, roll him for whatever I need (hopefully E0S0 since I don't have many resources), then wait until we know what's happening with the next banner. A great DPS like Jingliu could work well, but I would need to see if she plays nicely with the supports I have built up. If the next banner doesn't interest me, I'd probably look into if she'd be good for my account.

I love supportive and defensive characters with an offensive edge. I don't really have many damage units, but locking down a second premium sustain (one that has supplementary damage at that) feels like a no-brainer for my account, especially since I just got Acheron. From what I've heard from others and my own anecdotal experience, it is generally a better idea to have good support and defense options with fewer offensive units. This is particularly the case with F2P and low spender accounts. Aventurine will probably pay more dividends. Financial pun intended. Speaking of future investments, I am eager to see how Hoyo will continue to expand team archetypes. I agree that having future IPC units having FUA synergies would be cool and make a lot of sense.

Aventurine is niche for fua team, non fua would have problem to stack his shield sustain. Bronya and any action advance forward kit would also have an issue to be played with him. But if you are fua enjoyer such as myself or simply just love him as a character, feel free to pull him don't let this stop you from enjoying the game.

No, it's around a 10% improvement, same as basically any other DPS character. The only character whose LC isn't overhyped in the game rn is Acheron, it's almost a 40% damage increase.

Skill gives a team wide damage boost of 50% at level 10. her ult increases all allies attack by 22.8% and advances the team by 100%. During her ult state, she deals physical damage equal to 120% of her attack each time an ally hits an enemy, it has base crit values of 100% cr and 150% cd. During her ult state, she is immune to CC and cannot take any turns before the concerto state ends. her technique increase her energy by 5 at the start of each wave, and has a gimmick outside of combat that basically stops the enemies from attacking you, and they even follow you around

I don't understand the argument where new Sustains & Supports are better if you already have a couple DPS units due to power creep. If there's an ice weakness MOC and Pure Fiction then Jinglui is going to be invaluable. Whereas if you have HuoHuo, Fu Xuan or Luocha then they can fill the sustain role.

In my opinion Aventurine is much better overall since he is a Sustain with DPS capabilities while jing liu is pure DPS character. But for new players, Jing liu might be a better investment since she is really easy to build and can be used with musketeer relic set and herta shop lightcone. Aventurine will require a really good relics with Defence and Crit Stats to balance his dmg output with sustain so in my opinion he will require some investment in relics. Jing Liu also got better with new units such as Ruan mei and Sparkle and if they release 5 star version of pela then she's only going to get better. So in terms of DPS jing liu comes second after Acheron and if you don't have acheron then jing liu is much better pick up than any other DPS. For Sustain it's difficult to compare since Aventurine is the first sustain who have DPS capability so he is unique in his own niche while other sustains such as Huo huo and Fu Xuan provides Energy and Crit rate buff respectively. He is definitely a must pick if you don't have Fu Xuan, Huo Huo, Luocha or Gepard.

The only 5 star dps that i have are: Acheron, Ratio and Blade. Everything else are just "supports" like welt and Silver wolf. On the other hand the sustainers that i have are just Bailu and Gallagher E4, witch i'm feeling good to use both of them. My plan was to pull for Jingliu so on my second team i would have something like: Jingliu-Blade-Tingyun-Bailu, but i don't know if i should really pull for her or for Aventurine, since with him you will basically never die 🤨

I've got a few 5*, like: Kafka - Ruan Mei - Black Swan - Luocha - Gepard - Silver Wolf - Bronya (E1 S1) - Sparkle - Himeko - Yanqing - Dr. Ratio... ... and still can't clear MoC. Should I go for Acheron as a mostly f2p player even if I already have Kafka for lightning coverage? Bear in mind I'll pull for Aventurine for sure and probably only Robin next patch. Also, I really don't know if I should go for Jing Liu as well. As of now, I have 30 pulls + 56k jades

Im going with aventurine since E2 Acheron and Kafka doing more than enough for me... My damage will improve, yes, but there is a limit on how much I can sustain. And enemies are only getting more ridiculous to the point Gepard is not enough anymore...

I'm honestly thinking of skipping this whole patch and saving (Acheron and Sparkle cleared me out). I have enough sustains, support buffer/debuffers and dedicated dps units. DOT and Acheron are strong teams for my account and then I have DHIL and a few dual dps combos, so I'm covered for most end game content. Lacking Kafka, as lost 50/50 on both of her banners and a multi-target physical dps. So I think I'll save and focus on filling these gaps in my roster 🤔

Your DPS are solid. There’s really no need for you to get Acheron unless it’s because waifu reasons/you like her character. As for your sustains, they all work for your current DPS. Aventurine would actually weaken them since a lot of them either wants to be hit or they need the SP. I think JL and JY are the only ones who can use him. But if you really need a shielder, Aventurine is the right choice. Only thing he doesn’t have from Gepard are the taunt and freeze. Personally, I think it’s best for your account to save for support units. Robin, Ruan Mei, Sparkle, etc. Support and Sustains typically last longer in the meta than DPS.

Forgot to mention. Acheron is an insane DPS that’s will continue to get stronger thanks to leaked supports she’ll be getting. I personally got her to E2 S1 because she’s a Raiden expy even when I already had Seele, JL, and Kafka. All of them are great DPS Just keep in mind it’s about what you personally want. There is nothing wrong with getting Acheron. I’m simply giving advice based on what’s best for your account with the characters you have

PULL ACHERON … then get Adventurine he synergies very well with both ratio and Acheron. Only if you are a new player because you’ll have enough gems. If you are an og like me to each his own.

If I had neither sustain or dps, I'd probably go Jingliu. The free Natasha and Lynx are decent enough sustains for memory of chaos and Jingliu is still one of the best dpss out there.

I actually disagree with sustains offering more long term value than dps. You will most likely only ever need 2 good sustains, and they will only ever need to reach a basic level of functionality: keeping your team alive. Doesn't matter if it is at 100% hp or 1 hp, as long as they're alive. Currently we have multiple 4* and standard 5* characters than can quite easily fulfill this requirement. Especially if you consider ypu can buid a multitude of them rather cheaply and use them in the apropriate scenarios. I'm not sure pulling for a limited sustain is actually worth it, unless you pull them for their synergies *aside* of their sustain capabilities. Dps characters, while easier to powercreep, are imho easier to justify investing jades into. Even if JL gets powercreped as a universal dps, she will then simply fulfill a role as a dedictated ice dps. I'd even argue that she won't be truly powercreped until a better ice dps specifically is released, or a character so strong that they can deal more dmg to ice weak enemies than JL. I don't think Acheron is quite at that level. So, you can essentially justify pulling for at least 7 limited dps, but only 2 sustains really. You better make absolutely sure they're the best for your account. If we start to consider pure fiction, we might justify even more dps slots, since you'll also need considerable aoe dps, and sustains are barely useful in this mode. Aventurine would actually be one of the better options though, tbf. So, for sustains I would only consider pulling a limited character if they synergize extremely well with your account on top of adding more comfort to your runs. Free sustain options are largely enough, if properly invested into. The same cannot be said for free dps.

But i do have e4 pela and herta lc for her. With 30 pulls i have (30 pity on both char & lc banner), should i pull for acheron's lc or wait for jingliu?

Hello, Im a completely new player to hsr (equalibrium 4) and I'm not sure whos best for my acc. I started because of acheron and got her with roughly 100 pulls for the next banner. I have problem building around Acheron and Dr Ratio because the share the same teamates (bot really love my pela) and I don't have silver wolf or sparkle to counteract. If I get Jingliu, she'll already have a team that leave out characters for my Acheron team on the other side. With that all being said, I think that Adventurin will still have great value for my acc. He can auto sustain easy and I can try some hypercarry team with no debuffs (maybe). For an overview, I have: Acheron, Bronya, Dr Ratio, Tingyun, Pela, Guinaifen, Gallagher, Lynx. That's all. If someone read all this and have any ideas plz reply. Thanks!

Aventurine would perform slightly better than gepard in non-fua team. Let just say if he in fua team he'd be great but in non fua he'd be just good. Even I'm pulling aventurine myself bcs I like fua, I still recommend Huohuo and Fu Xuan for people who want flexible sustain.

If you are interested in getting Topaz or other followup attackers in the future than Aventurine as he can advance forward Numby increasing Topaz amount of atks and dmg. If you are not interested in followup attacks right now and want an immediate upgrade to your account than Jingliu. You have perfect team for her pair her with Blade, Bronya and Luocha and you have a solid team comp.
