AVENTUS CLONE HYPE | MONT BLANC EXPLORER FRAGRANCE REVIEW

My fellow fragrance heads, hear me out... give this fragrance a try when you can. You won’t be disappointed. I went into Sephora with my girlfriend today, and at the suggestion of a sales associate, she recommended I try Explorer (I had NO idea this was getting compared to Aventus), and immediately on 1st whiff, I thought to myself, “Wow. That is literally Aventus, for less than 1/4 of the price.” Girlfriend smelled it on my wrist, and she loved it instantly. She literally said, “PLEASE add this to your collection. Or let me get this for you for Christmas”. She couldn’t get enough of it. Honestly, Creed needs to come out with something new. Because for a designer scent to be THIS close to Aventus, and to garner such a reaction from my girlfriend, why spend over 5x the price of Explorer to get a bottle of Aventus..? Honestly, I think I’m done buying it. Definitely adding Explorer to my wishlist.

Because it doesn't last! 😆 Everyone liking Explorer is just wishful thinking to save $$$, but this video and others proves its not even close after the first hour its GONE (sign of low grade). I tested 15 Top Designer Colognes on test strips and smelled right after and day/s later. Explorer was the worst, very weak performance and projection, not unique, it ranked at the bottom for me. You get what you pay for. At least CDNIM clone is closer to the real deal and LASTS.

Update: After a week of Mont blanc Explorer, here is my impressions. "Here it is Gents! This scent puts away any craving to spend $300 plus dollars on Aventus Creed. Mont blanc Explorer is even a better version of this genre scent. Only mistake ive made is to buy the $60 one ounce and not the $90 three ounce. That will soon be corrected."

I OWN BOTH, AVENTUS AND EXPLORER. If you want a more natural smelling scent, get Aventus, if you wanna save yourself $300+ get explorer. It smells very similar and lasts. I will be using AVENTUS for speacial occasions now and Explorer for those casual days when I want to smell like aventus.

Agree the First year of Creed Aventus was amazing with nuclear staying power the smell was potent had more of a pineapple smoke smell fast forward 2021 and 2022 both bottles have been disappointed both my wife and daughter and my self don't like the smell sad I don't even use the creed aventus collection dust. I'll try Montblanc Explorer next time.

Your missing the point .. he’s saying that Mont Blanc performs worst than the worst batch of Creed , and I agree the projection and spillage on Mont Blanc is mediocre at best. That’s why he suggested to wait until it gets to discounters so you can pay $30. -$40 instead of $90 at retail. Because it’s definitely without a doubt not worth $90.

Yes. I sampled aventus at my nordstrom on my skin, and before that i went to sephora and sampled explorer. It wasn't until i got home that i noticed the near identical scent of them both. The dry down of explorer matches and even exceeds the aroma of aventus!!! I was shocked. And explorer absolutely destroyed aventus in it's longevity, it is a literal beast. Would choose explorer over aventus any day, the quality for its price point is almost unbeatable.

I am one of the few that does not really love Aventus so Montblanc Explorer is perfect for me. Aventus stays on my skin for days which can be annoying for me. Explorer does it job it stay on my me just about the whole day with out having to scrub it off at the end of the day. Its totally different cologne, no smokiness and no harsh chemical sweet sour sparkle that comes from pineapple, its more toned down rounded and overall pleasant, those who are not a fan of Aventus could possibly actually like/love this.

The first two times I smelled explorer I hated it. I was wearing another fragrance and it seemed really weak and bleh to me. But yesterday I tried it on at the mall, without any other fragrances on, and I absolutely love it. It's way better than CDNIM. And 18 hours later I still smell it on my skin.

Mehmet Güngör doesn't necessarily matter with explorer, you will get amazing longevity anywhere. But i sprayed it on the inside of my wrists, and chest, and i even got a shower, specifically scrubbed my wrists well, and i could STILL smell it about an hour later. It is definitely a beast of a fragrance, and for the first hour or so it has great projection! Overall you can't go wrong with jt

I love Explorer as one I keep with me at all times. Not worried if it breaks or gets lost, but so handy when I'm wanting to get a fresh scent cloud on me after a long day of work or gym or doing something outside. For the price it smells great and versatile for those of us on the move. I have nicer colognes for other situations, but those stay at home. Mont Blanc Explorer goes with me everywhere.

@@Eric-ll7ug it depends 3 sprays 1 behind the neck and 1 behind each ear is for like a bubble where u can only smell it by like walking passed people or hugging people and 5 sprays is like u leave a trail in the room like people can smell you from not far but idk how to explain it but people can smell u from farther the sprays is the same thing as the 3 sprays just add 1 each shoulder I recommend using like 5 sprays

Explorer smells very FRESH and MASCULINE. On my skin I can smell the similarities to Aventus and even get a pineapple smell. As it dries down I get ambroxin and leather smell. I'm getting 9+ hours longevity and 2-3 hours of good projection. I got a few compliments from my co workers yesterday after I sprayed it on around 5 hours prior and also changed clothes! Great buy for me :)

I like this one and I've tried all the top rated clones of aventus. This one has a unique scent in the dry down with a subtle hint of the citrus of the creed clones, but definitely different in a good way.

I actually completely disagree. I think it smells great. I got my bottle for free so I'm not saying I went out and spent a dime on it but I got compliments multiple times wearing it. I would say you're accurate when you said wear time is about 3-4 hours but I don't mind respraying if I get as much attention as I do with a good fragrance. I'd pick this up if I wanted something similar to Aventus which is just a special occasion fragrance for me, as 450 a bottle is pretty steep. I'd use this as a daily, that's just my opinion though.

Legend EDP is the best I've smelt of theirs, but Mont Blanc have some of the most basic and boring bottles, ALL are black and white patterned after their ridiculously expensive pens 😆(their main expertise). I used to work for a co. that sold them and other designer brands. Basically they're not even trying to be unique or different, just monitizing their brand in fragrance. At least with other companies like clothing companies they take chances with more potent frags and bottle designs!

I like it, tried it a few times now and I think it's a decent fragrance in it's own right. A different spin on an Aventus style frag with some Sauvage/Dylan Blue ambroxan in there. Great presentation too, as usual with Montblanc. Aventus isn't the be all and end all, buy Explorer if you like IT not just if you're looking for a Creed fragrance.

My opinion, if you go to a Dillards/Macys, and it doesn't have Creed Aventus, but do have Mont Blanc Explorer, most average consumers don't know what Aventus is, therefore will probably fall in love with Explorer.

Out of all the fragrances I have worn and i'm talking about going back to the 80's, nothing has gotten me as much positive random comments as Dior Sauvage. Not even Aqua Di Gio which in it's day was the holy grail. Maybe it's my body chemistry with it or maybe anyone who has used it regularly has the same experience but nothing I've tried comes close to it. And the irony is I don't like what I smell on me when I wear it. But I guess others smell something different. As one person told me "you don't ever need to wear anything else".

Just tried it, smells exactly like Aventus and for a third of the price. You are nit-picking and borderline deluded if you don't see it, (which may be amplified if you have just forked out for Aventus...). Much like Tuscan Leather with La Yuquawam, when a great clone comes out like this at this price point you just have to tip your hat and say to the original, 'you are a masterpiece, a piece of art and a part of my journey, however me and my wallet are now moving on'.

I'm commenting on your review from the future. Haha! As I like Aventus Creed a lot, I also have Mont Blanc Explorer. I find them somewhat similar with Aventus smelling quite nice on me. MB Explorer has given me the most compliments from the females. And I have lot of niche fragrances, Initio, Tom Ford, Amouage, Bond 9, all are great on me, but surprisingly MB Explorer gets and has gotten me the most compliments even when I'm not looking for compliments on my fragrances.

Wrong. I sprayed this on my left arm and Aventus on my right. Three hours later this one holds up as far superior and the dry down hours later smells EXACTLY like the dry down of Aventus. The top notes are slightly different but the dry down is EXACT

I own an explorer and I haven't smelled aventus yet. I love the explorer and I get tons of compliments every time I wear it. I don't know about others but my one have gotten some sweet chocolate note after few months.

This is a copy of Aventus batch 18k01 which is the newest batch of aventus, very fruity and vanilla boosted up. I do own that batch and i can tell they copied that specific batch and they did very great job at it.

Did a blind buy on this cologne recently based off the Creed comparisons and I was definitely disappointed. It has a “Grandpappy” smell to it and I was looking for something a little more fun & flirty. I could picture this cologne being a TJ Maxx in the near future

Ey guys real talk I have aventus, and this Mont Blanc is like 85% similar to aventus so it is worth it, on me it last about 6-7 hours a lil better then average power and does last and linger around, so it is worth it don’t believe only one person’s opinion check it out.. One more thing I did receive compliments.

Agreed, I'm not sure where he got the 4 hour range. I do like his reviews, however he is wrong about the longevity of explorer. It last at least 6 hour or a little longer and I do believe it's worth buying even at it's current price. He's just a little too harsh on some fragrances some times.

Nice loophole on the New year's resolution! You need to remember that listed notes are NOT a recipe/formula, merely an idealized idea for the consumer (unless you're dealing in true naturals) so as always the 👃 knows best. I also believe it's really unfair to compare a new pillar designer scent to an iconic niche/luxe release. Thanks for your assistance always totally thorough and down-to-earth synopsis. I'm fully aware that note breakdowns are not the full make up of a fragrance. That being said, there is no discernible vanilla, birch, musk, rose or "pineapple" in Explorer. It's very heavy on ambroxan & akigalawood through to the dry down. I actually own a large number of indie fragrances and a number of natural ones as well. I'm trying to get around to reviewing them more often so they'll eventually make their way on to the channel.

Aventus has a bit of a designer vibe itself, a good designer but still. This sounds like it might be worth trying and potential buy discounted. Not for me given I have Aventus but I can see why they would make something in the same style for a mass market.

Picked up a sample of this today after smelling it on a tester. I haven't worn it yet, but I definitely smell the woody, peppery scent you're describing just from where some got on my fingers. That aspect of this fragrance smells like so many other fragrances on the counter. Maybe it's also the Ambroxin like you're mentioning. I'll wear it tomorrow and see how it goes for a full wear.

So right out of the gate, when first sprayed (and ONLY when very first spray) I smell some sweet pineapple. But it goes away literally immediately. Then what's left is that dark leather peppery smell like every other cologne out there. Maybe if I were spraying it on clothes it would maintain the little bit of sweet to compliment the other notes. But for me wearing it on skin it just doesn't :( I'm sad.
