I own my Mont Blanc Explorer bottle for two years already. It smells really nice and masculine. The more I smell, the more I like it. Like it even more than Prada Lhomme.

I was looking for a really masculine and fresh scent for my husband. I tried Aventus at Neiman Marcus and even bought a tester and just didn’t like it. Got CDNIM and I hated it so I returned it. Got a tester from Cedrat Boise and decided to buy it. But I did love Explorer. I like the opening and dry down the best. So I got it for him.

Definitely close to Aventus but with a bit of a 'feel' of Sauvage to it. (Which only makes sense!)

You should check out Prada Luna rossa black i think you will like it's a simple unique sweet scent that is similar to discontinued bvlgari black

Parfums Vintage Emperor EDP is the closed I think, it's not that cheap tho. For a cheap one I like Zara Vibrant Leather, Explorer is good too.

Aventus batch in 2022 are reformulated again. The Dna has been changed. Now montblanc Explorer Is more similar to.aventus than aventus itself. If Explorer was a Little bit of Better quality It Will be a stunner. Love the scent by the way.

I’ve also heard that EDT is the way to go because of the smokiness. I’ve heard that EDT is the only one with that harsh opening, but it’s perfect once you get past that. I think a lot of people prefer the EDP because it doesn’t have that harsh opening, but I don’t like that they also make it less smoky. What do you think?

It's all about quality with Aventus, I think there are a fragrances that it can't be done with no real high quality ingredients, Aventus one of them... For me my nose just can't deal with poor quality fragrances at all, even I'm not hardcore guy.

I've only smelled Explorer in a store; it struck me as "nice" but ultimately it's an Aventus clone, and they're a dime-a-dozen. Funny how Mont Blanc jumped on this bandwagon nine years after the release of Aventus - talk about being late to the party...

Aventus itself is an Aventus clone. It's been reformulated so many times. I miss the earlier batches. With Aventus being nearly double the price it used to be, and no better in quality, Explorer is a very good purchase imo

Armaf - Club de Nuit parfum is the king. This smells a little more natural BUT has no longevity. Armaf after 20 mins is spot on and last for ages.

To be honest I found cdnim to have a horrible harsh lemon opening even with the pure parfum and edp versions but it has a great scent trail that people seem to love My girlfriend loves the scent trail and says it’s a gorgeous smell but when she kisses my neck she says it smells rather chemical like I find Mont Blanc explorer much more refined in its blending and much less harsh and in your face and it still has a nice scent trail 🤷🏻‍♂️ I do appreciate what cdnim has achieved though and I do like it’s scent trail ✌️

Nope. It’s headache inducing in the opening and it ruins the whole thing for me. To me it was very synthetic with lemon pledge. I can respect if other people like it but I just couldn’t. And trust me, I tried to like it
