This is the epitome of what happened if a great solid script combined with good actors got put onto screen by a super talented director!! Even though I was not a fan of the actress in “A familiar stranger”, I love the visual techniques of telling an interesting story by the director, and later I found out that a drama I enjoyed “Provoke” is also from that director as well. But I didn’t know “Blossom” was directed by him as well… I am really enjoying the story so far; I loved that the pacing is just enough not to make things boring but also have room for character development and super palpable attraction and sexual tension between the two leads! This drama certainly puts the director on the list of talents I need to look out for!

I love almost all of the characters in the drama. Especially the twin guard, Lu Ming and Lu Zheng. I cried when Lu Zheng dead 😭. Dou Ming in second life is so cute and sweet too, i love her. The fact that her personality changes because her mother didn't directly raise her is a great way to show that some of someone personality come from their environment. The main lead is interesting and lovely too, but i appreciate how well they present the side character. It's hard to find Chinese drama that respect side character as real people this day. In this drama they make me feel even the maid and guard is real people. They make me care about this little side character's life too. And as always, this director always have a beautiful shots. Beautiful shots, lovely character, engaging story telling. Absolutely beautiful. I'll wait for more of his work.

yes, I like the fact that the characters of people in the first life and second life are not exactly the same. I like that Duo Ming and even the ex husband are not as bad as in the first life...different experience in life can lead you to be a different character...in fact Song Mo character is also different, he experienced different scene of life, and I like that when he want to fall into the same mistake, in this second chance of life there is Dou Zhou that will give insight and reminded him

I love Dou Ming, I was so sad for her tragic fate. She was so sweet and kind in this life, and always tried to have a good relationship with her sister. But I suppose her sad ending was karma for her previous life when she fatally betrayed her own sister. The character that I absolutely did not care for was Miao Ansu. Didn’t deserve to be a princess and didn’t deserve to have so much screen time of her and Song Han?? I was so tired of these two ugh 😩 I wish we had more of the Crown Prince and his wife. Their marriage was so adorable, I love their dynamic!

I enjoyed meng ziyi's royal rumours last year and this year; blossoms. The ML is also good in acting and is good looking in costumes. This drama is the result you get when everyone involved in a project are talented and intelligent. The audience is fed up with marketing without real value and when this type of drama is released, they will embrace it with wholeheartedly. For me, this is the best costume drama of 2024.

Initially I had reservations on watching this drama because I'm not too fond of Meng Ziyi (please don't come for me, eeks!), perhaps just stemming from watching her in variety shows hehehe, but my FYP kept on showing this drama and everything about it pulled me in closer and closer. So I decided to watch Ep 1... before I knew it I was on Ep 13. Put my foot in my mouth I guess. Highly recommend it for wrapping up the year :-D

Great visual narration, great character development, great plot twists. I just hope it's a happy ending, considering they're changing so much from the original source >_< the director has a good track record for happy endings, so fingers crossed!

I totally agree with this review. I stop watching the series if I cannot root for the leads of the series, some series nowadays just throw characters at us that aren't likeable. I think some writers/directors forget that viewers need to like and somewhat admire the lead's character before we can root for them and get attached. This series dedicated episode 1 to show us that the FL is such a good person, she married and did all her duties but she was bitterly betrayed by her husband and her own sister. Even the ML gets shown as a general who did everything to right what was wrong but only to find out that he had taken revenge on the wrong person(s). These two souls earned the viewer's hearts in just one episode, something that not a lot of series can do in 30+ episodes. I just hope the rest of the episodes are just as well written as the first 10 episodes that I've seen. Sometimes, I'm afraid to praise a series until I've seen it to the end. We have so many examples of series that start out so promising and they just jump off the cliff in the last 10 episodes. *fingers crossed*

For me personally this is the best Cdrama of 2024. I didn't even know anything about this drama nor do I have any expectations regarding it. I watch it after seeing so much of the hype, and it didn't disappoint me. I'm so obsessed and so hook with it. This is probably the only drama so far that I didn't get bored in between while watching it, the more I watch the more I wanna more about the next plot & it's so addicting. I didn't even know Li yunrui before. I have even watch Produce Camp 2019 before but i didn't even realise he was a participant in that show until this drama & I went to re-watch then I realise he was there 😂. Actually, I think it is far harder to write a good story in a fantasy setting, because on top of writing characters, plot and pacing, you have to create a consistent realistic fantasy world as well. Otherwise you end up with a fantasy setting that forgets its own magical rules. A good western Fantasy writing is Tolkien and Brandon Sanderson. Eastern example would be Jinyong's Books and 'I am Nobody'

Maybe Li Yunrui really isn’t my type.. I appreciate he did a good job with his role and the CP with Meng-jie is sizzling.. but uh, I’m not blown away. It’s just a decent drama to me that I had to fast forward some draggy/ cringey parts as usual. The whole thing with the blossom mole on her was how their fates intertwined in this life seems really stretched.. I think even the writers gave up on that plot point and hoped we forgot somewhere in the middle. The weakest link of this very decent drama is really the writing imo. I wish it was more coherent and had more meaning.

Blossom is definitely the BEST drama of 2024. The two leads are not just eye candied, but they can act. Perhaps it's due to the amazing script. Their chemistry is off the charts on and off screen. I watched them in Happy Camp and they were so into each other. You can see his athletic prowess when he leaped to get the shoe to put on her feet during a game. Li Yunrui actually played basketball in college. I can't wait to see more of his fighting scenes in Blossom and see more of their on-screen sizzling chemistry.

I started watching it because of Meng Ziyi but I was not expecting much. I never expected it to be this good. That I'll get hooked and will be sooooo impatient for the next episode. This is the first drama that got me paying for express episodes as early as now, I usually give in on the last drop of episodes. The director was actually directing! The scrpt writers were actually script writing! And the 2 leads' chemistry was chemistry-ing!!!!! And the most important for me is the pacing! I usually drop a drama if the pacing is so slow. Even the way they are promoting them is good. I love the two leads interviews! I do hope it will continue to be good until the end. So far, it is the best drama for me this year. Definitely the black horse drama! And rightfully deserve the popularity it's getting locally and internationally!

To be precise: its a so called "regression" not "reincarnation" or "rebirth". Distinctive differences. Regression = same character returns to a earlier state of the same lifetime with memories of life lived (all or mostly) intact. Reincarnation = the soul of the a character continues in a new character, usually in chinese mythology is being born again.

Nowadays, we need more solid storytelling and camera work on top of acting. We can't just rely on the actors and actresses and fill in the gaps in our heads. I hope the standard for directors and scriptwriters will get higher or that viewers will hold them as accountable as the actors. Apart from that, it's not the perfect drama but really well done idol period drama. I think there's not a lot of chemistry between the two, but it's still done well. Just don't flop on me!!!

Review was perfectly done! I noticed that in many dramas a lot of scenes are cut short, some parts drag while others are rushed. This kind of things do leave audience confused moreover dissatisfied. It surely makes a huge difference when director is such a capable guy who can envision things before hand and execute it flawlessly! I am not familiar with neither FL's or ML's previous works however one must agree that they have incredible chemistry together and their acting in this drama is simply superb! So far (20 episodes watched) story has everyone wanting more and it just grabs everyone's attention from the first episode. There is no doubt in my mind that it will stay that way till the final episode! I am so happy that my friend recommended this drama to me! It is the best period drama I watched so far, without unnecessary boring and incomplete parts. It is definitely well explained and marvelously done!

Without a solid character background I do not care about either the characters or their stories/lives. A sign that I am truly hooked is when I want to go back to rewatch the first/second episodes to really get a grip, an understanding, on the characters and their motivations &/or reactions to people & situations. This is the first time watching a full length period drama where the lighting doesn't shift to studio over lit mess by episode 8. The quality hasn't dropped once & I've finished episode 25. Love the director & now Chasing Jade is on my plan to watch list too.

The symbolisms and metaphors used this Blossom reminds me a lot of Love of Nirvana which has a lot as well. I love when drama did this since they add this subtle depth into the story. Very creative storytelling.

I to had no intention of watching Blossom since I watched both Princess Royal and Kunning Palace in 2024. When I realized director was at the helm of Provoke, A Familiar Stranger and The Killer is Also Romantic. I knew I had to give it a shot, so happy I did! Tight story telling, smart leads, supportive friends, family drama and enough palace intrigue to keep you chasing each episode. At 34 episodes I hope it sticks the landing since it should be missing a lot of the fillers that bloat and derail a lot of dramas.

I agree dramas this year have been terrible. This came out of nowhere so many dramas I was looking forward to were either crashed at the last minute. No chemistry or it makes no sense. Or that people die in a really unnecessary. But this so good the videos have some much good tension this and as beautiful as you is 100%

I had a difficult cdrama year. I dropped a lot of dramas early even the most popular ones and was even thinking my love for cdramas had died until this drama came along and made everything right again. I had been anticipating it ever since i saw the casting 🍉 because I really like MZY & LYR and I was hoping so badly it wouldn't end up a disappointment like the other dramas I watched this year and thankfully it ended up being SO good. A perfect round-up to my drama year!

I have just finished watching Blossom and I loved it. I think it is safe to say that it is the best C-drama I have watched 2024 but that could be given recent c-dramas have been disappointing so make this appear GREAT. Anywho, I loved it and will re-watch very soon if not straight away.

Just coming back to this video after finishing watching this drama. I'm happy I came across this review. I must say I really loved this drama from beginning to end. Not a boring episode and it has a really good ending! I don't usually enjoy period dramas, but this one I really liked. I enjoyed it as much as LLTG, but this one has a more satisfying ending. Very well done! Also happy to watch Li Yun Rui as a lead here, as I've only really seen him as a second lead. So handsome! And the couple as a whole was so enjoyable to watch. You can see the love and trust that they have for each other. I especially love how both characters were also both so smart. 😊

Best drama this year. ❤ Li Yunrui and Meng Ziyi were fantastic together. The chemistry was 🔥There are so many good cinematic scenes and each character had their moment. Phenomenal visual storytelling. The writing of Song Mo and Dou Zhao were done really well - definitely one of the top CPs in CDramaland. 👏🏽
