I am unable to share my experiences with it regarding Zoom, as I don't have a Zoom setup. However, it IS Zoom certified.

why does the video look like 720 when you say it's recording 4k?

Sadly, I had terrible lighting, and I think that really messed with the quality of the image. I was using X-Split, and it was set to record in 4K, with the CAM540 selected as the recording device.
