A good programme, or at least a snapshot of what olympians put themselves through! I'd just add that as a casual runner if you do start to feel unexpected pain, don't just try and run through it as you might be doing some serious damage!

It reminds me of Steve Cram. Apparently one day he decided he didn't want to run competitively any more and just stopped! He never officially retired either. He lost the motivation. So enjoy it while you have it. Plus, I think Sarah is awesome and definitely not average.

As I said after part one: very proud of you. Although the “challenge” was connected to your work, and in 20 years you may be doing some other kind of work, this one week will stay with you forever and always remind you that you can do hard things even if you have limited experience with those things. That is a great life lesson!

Sale, i think it's the most important thing! Yeah, we get this regime is incredibly hard to maintain, even if you are a trained athlete who do this for a job, but we didn't get how far one can boost it's performance with 7 hard days of training. Which is pretty interesting. And there is another side of this: This was a 7 days of torture for only 2 videos. There are a lot more to talk about it and get out of this experiment than 2 videos.

Well done Sarah! I'm doing an ultramarathon plan at the minute and so I kind of thought 'that looks easy' at the start, but it wasn't...for me the real killer is when you realise you have to get up early/try to squish in your training sessions around work, that's when you start to get really tired. Great video!

I think you've done a good job with the challenge. Honestly, any lack of motivation you've experienced comes from too much too soon. When I saw the schedule, it mimics my current training schedule except I leave one day where my recovery is a hike/walk. All else is pretty close, but I got there by increasing over 4 years from no running at all. The series really made me appreciate progressive overload.

Sarah built up to this training very slowly over a period of months so she stood the best chance both of completing it and not getting injured. If you're thinking of taking on a similar challenge, we really recommend you check with your doctor and ensuring you've got a very good base of fitness before you start. Hope this helps 😊
