So, Android Auto works? How satisfied are you with the camera? The camera is my main concern about the V2, as I'm into photography. Right now, I have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro, that still delivers good results. If I buy a foldable, I want something at least at that level. 1500- € for the oneplus open (Black Friday discounts included) got me thinking again. The Wondamobile offer of the Chinese Rom Version is almost 200.-€ cheaper...

In my opinion, the build quality of the Samsung Z Fold series as well as the Google Pixel Fold; they just look and feel more premium in the hand when compared to most of the Chinese manufactured foldable phones. With the Huawei being the only exception. 🤷🏿‍♂️

The one thing I'm curious about, coming from a Surface Duo, is whether you can open a link to a website or app etc in a new multitasking window - so e.g. if you're viewing chrome full screen and see a link you want to open, can you open it in a new multitasking window so you have 2 instances of Chrome running side-by-side? Or if there's a link to Reddit and it wants to open the Reddit app, will that replace the current app(s) or give you the option to open it straight into a new multitasking window? I think that I will probably have to give that feature up, and that's a sacrifice worth making given all the gains I'm getting, but I'm just curious if you can get a long press option to open side by side etc. I do quite like having Edge open to different websites on two screens, but I find it far weirder trying to imagine how it would work on a device where there could be one, two or three windows plus floating windows - like, making it intuitive and predictable seems harder. Wondering if that means they gave up or if they came up with something clever!

I would love it if you could compare watching KZbin videos and movies on each foldable and on a big screen regular smartphone just to see the difference in size. Also would be interesting to see a video with a cinematic aspect ratio on the foldables vs a regular phone as I believe the actual size would be about the same. You could even make a 'youtube short' video as it only needs to be brief. Thanks for all your videos.

I love it, but 2 things i hope you can help me with; is there a way to watch split screen in horizontal mode so i can watch youtube properly whilst multitasking and also the camera has really bad lag when i take photos and i slightly move its blurry, which didnt exist on my pixel 6 pro? Tap the dots in the middle of the screen in split screen mode, you will see the split horizontal option. camera lag update just released.

Thank you, although when I do that for some reason the bottom app wont remain half screen it always enlarges so I cant see both apps fully on the screen at the same time?? Apple does make it very hard to leave. And how difficult it is depends on how far into their ecosystem you are. But it's worth it. The pain of transferring everything is only momentarily, the freedom that follows lasts forever (or: the duration of a lifetime).

The pixel is great, it's not mind blowing specs wise but it does everything the average user would need very, very well. Mike has my former pixel fold, I will have his former one plus in a couple of days. I already told him when it's time, I want first dibs on getting the pixel back because I do love it that much.

Reasons for PIXEL FOLD: **It has same OUTER dimensions as the "OnePlus Open" unit rotated it 90°, but a bit smaller with those bezels. I placed some cool looking carbon fiber vynl cover on my bezels, so it's able to be more personalized! **OnePlus could have made their unit fold same way as the Pixel, to gain more usable width for outer screen(!), and still have their same inner screen!. Why compromise a we tiny bit on the outer display? To attract the narrow minded Samsung customers? Ugg!😢 **The Pixel Fold actually has a "NORMAL" sized phone width, just it's shorter height (than others)means you can reach the top menu bar in one handed use. 🙂 **Pixel Fold You can see a larger outer screen image, when in "tent mode", due to having that slight wider outer screen, so you use it more 😊 ** Infinite folding and opening positions. It doesn't loose tension after opening 90°, while other China foldables like OnePlus will want to snap full open past 90°. **Pixel Fold Cameras retain Superiority in quick shot, image color, & software processing. ** Pixel Fold cameras are more optimally placed arcoss top of unit, which makes them totally out of the way. In comparison, Samsung cameras are verticaly placed down the side, were your hand grip the area. The issue is same on the OnePlus Open. It's huge glass covering of cameras causes user touch, so have to wipe lenses free of finger prints before taking pics. **Some videos are showing light interference from OnePlus Open's camera huge glass cover (lighter images in sun, soft lens flare), and it's outer glass is vulnerable to get scratched. Aftermarket cases will not protect it. **PixelFold has the more advanced AI... Like faster google keyboard, "hey google" verbal commands, speech to text, call screening, and even voice messages having text transcript! **Pixel Fold gets latest Android OS, plus the beta program with more features, like 5 row icons on display, full screen apps, dual display images for cover & main screen, and more. **Pixel Fold having Wireless charging is always a plus as it needs it! So good to have, Lol **The Pixel Fold is More pocketable than all other taller Foldables. Try sitting/squatting with that tall narrow phone in front pocket. It will pop out(!) Because of the narrowness makes it loose in pocket! Then the length pushes it out(!) When squatting or bending forward, in comparison to the Pixel Fold. **The Pixel Fold is More "holdable" than ALL taller Foldables, being more compact and "centered" in the hand. Although other foldables can feel lighter, they will still feel awkward in comparison to the Pixel. **The bottom line will always come to how the unit works and it feels in your hand, thruout the day. The Pixel Fold retains this advantage 🥲

Nah, a guy on reddit dunked his phone in water to test how water proof it really was. He had to take it apart to get the water out and he discovered the lens cover is held on by just a really thin strip of adhesive that's not as good as samsung's adhesives.

The great part of the One+ Open is the balance of the outer screen and a large inner screen i great, the google wide form factor and large bezels was an instant turn off along with the price . this also includes Samsung with the narrow display .

The trouble with the Chinese phones even with Google Services is that I have been experiencing some Chinese content when searching for websites or apps such as Rotten Tomatoes. As hard as I try on my Xiaomi Fold 3 I can not access an English version.

I use the Samsung browser (due to the awesome adblocker) on my Mix Fold 3, works great, no Chinese content... however, there is a weird bug (not due to samsung brower as it happens on all text apps) that I can't seem to figure out. Basically, the sogue keyboard (default chinese keyboard) automatically switches on even though Gboard is the only keyboard active. It happens from time to time.

At this point the only thing I need from OnePlus is an ecosystem. Their ear buds pro 2 are awesome and from what I see oppo also has some really good ear buds which I imagine work with the OnePlus as well as OPPO phones since they both use the same app when paired to other Android brands. But what I want now is a watch. And as of now OnePlus hasn't made a watch since 2020 or 2021. I hear that they are coming out with a watch 2 but as of now the only choice is an OPPO watch. The OPPO watch 4 pro actually looks amazing imo but getting it here in the US is a problem. And the cost is eye watering. I mean it looks great but it's closing in on $600 for a watch and that's a bit much for me 😅

There is a new OnePlus Watch coming. But the beauty of Android is that you can combine any brand and it works together. Take the Skagen Falster as an example. Beautiful android Wear device that would look very good combined with the Open.

As already mentioned, this phone is treated like a small pet lol. As an retired engineer I fully understand that a folding screen is something that would always need to be treated with respect. However today it was opened with the same level of care but on opening it this afternoon the lefthand internal screen was unusable. A two inch green band runs from the top to the bottom of the screen. Ive called oneplus who have as said that there are no unsold phone to replace it with. This is so disappointing and they have said that delays will be very long. Everyone please be aware that the phone is not as faultless as promoted. Before this fault today this was the Best phone Ive ever used...
