HW SUM:- For those who didn't understand you can do it like this, let the average of 21 people be A. THUS, sum of 21 people=21A sum of people excluding eldest=20(remaining ppl) * 20(minimum age possible if anyone leaves group as explained by sir)=400. we know age of eldest=20 + A (according to the sum). now according to the problem, sum of 21 people - sum of 20 people(excluding eldest) = age of the eldest 21A - 400=20+A. From here you will get the average of 21 people as 21 years. Then proceed with the sum as sir discussed. hope this helps.

For people wondering how to solve question 7 with allegations method. I posted this comment as a reply to someone who asked for it but I saw others too. So, I guess should also put this as a fresh comment for everyone else too: *So 1st allegation will be for Number of students in section A:* 70 (old avg) 95 (3 student avg) 75 (new avg) 20 : 5 4 : 1 (ratio of students) Now, my value of 3 student who are added is 1 but ques value is 3, so multiplying ratios by 3 will give A students and it will become: 4 x 3 = 12 (A students) *2nd Allegation for section B by same method as A:* 75 95 70 25 : 5 5 : 1 (ratio of students) Now, my value for 3 students who left from B is 1 but question value is 3, so multiplying ratios by 3 and getting 5 x 3 = 15 (B students) A + B = 12 + 15 = 27 (Answer) You're welcome!!!

But to apply allegation, it is recommended that value should be in between the two other values. In the 2nd case 70 is not in between 75 and 95.

Can someone please clear me in the last question when we pour 2 liters from c1to c2 we wrote value of C2 first nd then C1 similarly when poured from C2 to C3 but while pouring from C3 to C1 we are writing value of C1 then C3 ?

Doesn't matter you can put that value anyway back and forth as you like but make sure the quantity of that mixture is written right below it otherwise the answer will be wrong

DDP - Sir in question number 6 according to the logic of average A will be 21 only but by doing it with the normal method of comparing 21 with A AND 20 with 20 we get the Age of the elder person as 21(A-20) - 20 = -E ( as through this equation the value of E will come in -ve because he left the group) and comparing this equation with E - A = 20 I am not getting the value of A as 21. Sir, I know I am making a mistake but can you clarify this doubt

sum of all the iterations of the series will be equal to sum of square of natural numbers [n(n+1)(2n+1)] / 6 divide it by n to get average and equate it to 188 and solve for n.
