When the Carpenter family welcomed their second daughter everything seemed fine. When a heart murmur was detected at age 2 1/2, their world changed in an instant.

I think “heart murmur” is an understatement. Her heart was barely beating!

I have a heart murmur and it kinda means that you have an irregular heart beat, of course there's different kinds of heart murmurs, I have VSD.

I also had a heart murmur, but the doctor fixed it. My condition was detected when I was 13, but now I'm 14 and I'm happy and healthy.

Good on you! Are used to be a area list/trapeze artist I did so being legally blind. But then got really badly injured to the point where I now need a wheelchair - ironically not as a result of my work but of an epileptic seizure that I had whilst studying. But what I didn’t want to say was I was on the trapeze when I was legally blind so you can certainly dance and dance for the world and dance your heart out - with a heart problem. (I didn’t realise the pun onwards until I finish the sentence but I thought you look like you have a good sense of humour like me so you would get a laugh out of it - plus it’s what I wanted to say). Best of luck sweetie - you go and dance the world away :-)🧚🏻♀️🌈🦋⭐️☀️❤️✌️🇦🇺

I am 29 with a CHD known as TOF/APV. I am doing a lot better now because of my team finding the right combination of medications to help my heart along with the two open heart surgeries I have had. I receive care at the Johns Hopkins Congenital Heart Center.

I was born with a heart mumor. Still have it too. I'm 25 now. It's hereditary, but thankfully my son doesn't have a heart mumor. He's 3 months old now. My heart from what I know skips every other beat, and will continue to do so.

lots of comments saying she's lucky, she was born on saint patrick's day and even her mom said you can't get a luckier birthday than that, she's not wrong lol her heart was just twitching and she probably shouldn't have been alive but she was, the heart surgery went better than expected and now she's still alive and she's happy so i think that she's super lucky but so are her parents because their daughter is still here

Emma Edelmann dear Emma. Know that you’re loved more then you know!! I hope you will find someone that can help you and support you. To self harm, means you’re living with difficult stuff. Please find yourself someone to help you. I send you much much love from Switzerland.

Emma Edelmann 💝🤗 you are and have the present to give this world that is unique only to you. Nobody else has got this, coz you are unique! And the world needs you! Your greatest presents tend to be hiding behind our ‚difficult stuff‘. To go beyond, it can be important to let yourself ask for help if you need to. Because: if you received a beautiful present, would you cut it up? No! You would treasure it! Even if you might feel like it might not be true.....question your own thoughts, cause they tend to echo what others have told you into the past. And in the end.....it was THEIR (hurtful) opinion. And not the truth of who you really are. Check out Candace van Dell, Bruce Lipton, or find your own people that can help you find your way back to yourself and out of self-hurt. Love you!🥰🤗🙏🏻💫
