I love that your content is so fresh, as opposed to most of the other true crime creators that rehash the same cases, while adding nothing new or original to the story. This is quality content from a seasoned storyteller. You're well on your way.

Jason! You just made my day! Thanks so much. I try find stories that haven't been covered much or at all. I know I personally don't want to listen to the same story 1000 times. I'd rather bring you something new! Appreciate your kind words, they mean a lot 😃

What makes it so much more compelling than the Amityville case, is the fact that you have both Police and Firefighters written accounts about what they witnessed inside the house.

My father was a Bridgeport cop at the time. He was not one of the first on scene but what he swore to was that when he pulled up he saw a fireman run out of the house so fast that he ran right in to a telephone pole and knocked him out

@@AveryAfterDark Lol thanks. I miss it every day. There was a ghost lore/true crime case in the 80s in the town next to mine that involved a serial killer and a church. Trinity Church in Brooklyn, CT. Growing up legend was serial killer Michael Ross killed two girls behind the church in the cemetery and thats why it's haunted. But there's contridicting info about if he even killed anyone there, or if it was haunted before he were to have killed people there. Most teens go try and ghost hunt there, but they have patrols and all to keep people out. We almost got caught when we went 😆 And besides that, my house was haunted growing up lol we don't know who it was, but he was kinda just, there. We'd see shadows or feel his presence, but he felt more protective than anything lol and our house was only built in the 80s, so I personally think the land was haunted. Also, I appreciate the visual podcasts on here now 😊 Eta- We tried going there in like 2010, but the patrol was there so we just left. So I didn't get to actually try and see if it was haunted lol

I've just recently started watching you on KZbin and so far you've grabbed me with the paranormal stories...I lived in Bridgeport when this happened. I was just a kid but I remember my uncle saying that it was nonsense and there was no such thing. One story about Lindley Street was that a cat was witnessed talking. Don't know if that was made up at the time but I do remember that it was said to call a person's name. George I believe. I also witnessed the activity in Dudleytown while on a paranormal tour with the Warren's in the early 90's. And as you said in your podcast there was absolutely no sound once you passed a threshold goingnin to Dudleytown. The group I was with also witnessed the sound of someone walking around us but not seeing anyone who was doing this...We all stood still listening and could not explain what was happening.

The 966 lindsley st incident was not a hoax. I was 8 years old when this happened in 1974 and I live a few blocks from this house. I also heard that the there was a black cat in the basement that was singing jingle bells and a priest told me that the picture frames were floating of the walls and the refrigerator was also floating about 1 foot off the floor. Scary, very scary stuff to even talk about but it was the real deal. Oh and I really enjoyed your video!! Thank you !!

@@AveryAfterDark@kerryspeck6875 The Warren’s were awful people. Ed was a predator. They kept a 15-year-old girl as Ed’s live-in lover for many years. Elizabeth forced her to have an abortion. Also If they could not make money off of a case they would leave. They would very often only stay for one day, and then takeoff, especially if they couldn’t convince the people to sign off on an agreement to write a book. That has been well documented. For example, Enfield poltergeist in England. They were there for one day and they asked the family if they wanted to make money off of it, and the family basically told Ed to leave. In the Lindley street case , they were there for a very short time. If they could not make a case fit into their usual demon narrative they would move on. In this case they told the father that they could make a lot of money and the father just told him to leave. It’s all documented in interviews and in a book. You really shouldn’t be, pushing their fake narrative. Also - the warrens did not conduct the lengthy interviews in this case. The interviews were conducted by a university team. Read www.amazon.com/Worlds-Most-Haunted-House-Poltergeist/dp/1601633378 The Warrens were also religious frauds. The priests they relied on were not there in official church capacity. Father Charbonneau was a very young priest and I think they took advantage of him. He was reprimanded by the church because of his official sounding interviews he would give concerning his involvement with them. They would also rely on defrocked priests. There was one priest they used who was so conservative the church threw him out. Do better with your research and don’t glamorize these frauds.

I found your pod cost through TikTok which lead me here. I'm confident the spirt in the home was attacking young Marsha and was doing everything it can to insure no one was going to help them. Now, I appreciate this next thought may be outlandish. I'll call the poltergeist a demon going forward. It's possible the police superintendent may have been influenced by the demon during the interview with Marsha. Being exposed to Marsha and the house the demon could have attached and then influenced him. In turn discounting Marsha's experience, other officers and fire fighters. The demon causing Marsha to say it's a lie, then applying pressure to the superintendent is what it needed to remove anyone who wanted to help. As you said in your episode demons want the victims to be abandoned and have no support. In turn causing the victim to feel even more helpless and even more vulnerable. That's my thoughts after my years of reading paranormal accounts, authors, and personal experiences. Thanks for the hard work and the great story sharing.

I feel really bad for Marcia. By my math, she would be in her late 50s by now. I can only help but wonder what effect this experience as a child has had on her life; the things that happened to her, as well as being labeled responsible for it all. It definitely sounds like a poltergeist to me. As you mentioned, there are just too many credible witnesses for it to be otherwise. It seems to me that the only hoax here was the Superintendent's decision on the case.

The house is a portal to hell there are certain houses built that are portals to hell you will have to look up the history of the area starting from 1610 upwards the house itself could be built on ancient Indian burial ground the Amityville house is built on ancient Indian burial ground New York City is built of a sacred indian burial ground there are graves still buried underneath, the house on Linley street definitely wouldn't live on it it's the type of house you'd buy but you'd have the outside secured as in bars on windows and doors same if there's a old fashioned basement with Doors that lead to the basement, whatever is in the house has to do with the basement your talking about a ancient malivelent evil never ever demolish these houses for safety reasons especially with neighbouring homes they'll just go into a neighbours house certain people can by accident trigger evil spirits without knowing they have my final words and advice don't fear evil but don't live in those houses

Basically, the devil knew that his demons were about to be evicted from that house. He then probably scared that police chief, or caused him to do what he did to end it, by getting into his head, influencing his thoughts.

What were you expecting to see? The incident being portrayed here occurred in 1974. Video cameras were not readily available in those times unless you were loaded, which is not how the people in this community were being portrayed. This is such a low-key comment to an otherwise very good re-telling of the story. If the actual police reports were not good enough to believe the story, then video evidence would be totally useless. Wouldn't matter anyway. There are always those like you who would pick it apart in such detail only to throw out their own theory as to why it can't be real. You obviously have never had a personal encounter with the supernatural because this comment would have never been made if you had.
