I love this song so much. If you think about it it's a super deep cut. A song that appeared on a compilation album (that's impossible to find the full version of unless you have apple music) that is created by one member of a band that probably 97% of the world has never heard of. But what a song! And what an itch it scratches!

The issue is that most of their material is a form of neo-psychedelic music that wasn't really possible until the rise of electronic music.psychedelic as a genre kinda died when people got tired of analog synths and wah-pedal guitar. So once sampling, studio production, etc caught up with people's ideas neo-psychedelic was created.

I would say most notably from their latest album, Centipede Hz the song Pulleys strikes me as distinctly Pink Floydish, ESPECIALLY live if you have seen the extensions they've done with it there (greatest experience of my life when I saw them live)

you all need to expand your musical horizons, animal collective is no where near the end all be all or melodic composition, in fact most of their genre tropes are directly copied from someone else, most notably Woo
@justinorville7 жыл бұрын
JahBoys Music is a mirror for the human being, different end all be alls for different organisms. Animal Collective definitely has an individuality which is their own because they write from their hearts, tropes always reappear in art but they always near the individual style of the organism creating it if they create from their heart. Music isn't a technical excercise, and creativity isn't even nearly a fully conscious process.
@technoserf_digital7 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I appreciate the upload, and the recommendation of the band Woo, but expanding your musical horizons isnt as easy as you're making it out to be. Really all you can do is personally tell people and give advice. Just saying "expand your taste" isnt really advice. Like, obviously. I don't think there's a single Animal Collective fan that's been sitting there for the last 10 years like "nah man ancos as far out as it gets man" We all want to listen to new, challenging, exciting, cathartic music. Where do we start? What resources should we use? Who are some other artists or record labels that feature similar, better, or original content related to Animal Collective?
@pstyrn18126 жыл бұрын

@fluidexpressions68565 жыл бұрын
Animal Collective is actually the end all be all of music in general.
