I wouldn't follow this to the 'T'. I think it's more personal preference. I prefer having a smoother image when things are moving so it doesn't blur and having more ambient light to make the image brighter. great video, but your idea of perfect is not the same as mine.

I’m pretty clueless with all this stuff! My tv does not have most them options eg. The hd settings! And it is a 4K tv. Do I need to have some sort of box or something plugged in?

I have this very TV. It is great other than when I open Amazon Prime from the Apps menu and watch 4K HDR content, the TV seems to default to some sort of HDR settings - which is 100% backlight and contrast, which is just too much. I adjust them as per the instructions in your video, but the next time I use the App, the TV has forgotten the settings. Have I done something wrong as it is getting annoying redoing the setting each time I want to watch The Grand Tour?

50 backlight is too low imo. I have the ez950 (oled) and the dx700 and anything but 100 backlight is too dim

Very helpful video ..... I think. At age 75, this is a world I do not understand, but will have a look at these settings and see where they are in relation to the set as delivered on Sunday 23 October. So far very pleased with this TV and the Panasonic sound bar SC-HT B690EBK but the set up by KNOWHOW, was extreemly brief and did not go into any of these settings at all. Best of luck with it. We are very pleased with our TV but do feel there is more to learn and feel sure that I could obtain more benefit if only it was easier to learn. Video's like this should be an essential part of a manufacturers duty and could include DVD's with the product or at lease have a link to their products. I have Panasonic tv of model no. 39e200dx.......i am very confused regarding one thing. In my tv there's no movie or cinema mode instead there's mild mode and user mode....... So I have this TV and its connected to my PC. I've only just found out how to change it to 60HZ from the dropdown list. Ths specs state that it has a refresh of 100+ however but I dont see anyway to activate this? Any advice? Thank you

Thanks for the review. It does seem to be a lot of faffing to be constantly going into the menu to watch different video sources at different times of the day. If I were to leave HDR turned on all for standard def/High def viewing would this make any significant difference to image quality and video? I suppose everything is a compromise so in short what I'm really asking is if you were to pick one setting that is best for all content which one would you pick (True Cinema with or without HDR)?

Split the difference in backlight. Go with Cinema, backlight 40, Contrast 90

I have it set 30/90 and at times it can be too bright. I do find the LCD leaks light when it is supposed to be black. No matter how much I lower the black-light I can never get it a smooth consistent black. I suppose that is just a limitation of edge lit LED and if I want true black I have to spend a fortune on OLED.

Hi, I have a DENON 4200 receiver.. I am looking to play my PS4 PRO with it this weekend. My concern is that I want the HDR to be able to switch the picture settings (between SDR settings, and HDR) when it is either on, or off.. Am I right in saying if I go into - Option settings - HDMI Content Type - then ON, it will switch when neccessary, and then leave the settings I have created for SDR as normal when an HDR signal is not being passed through? I don't want to have to fiddle with settings more than once. The receiver is obviously being plugged into the HDMI 2 (Arc), not the PS4 PRO directly, so wondering if any of this will be an issue? This is my situation: I have my Fire TV (which supports 4K video and plays HDR content on Netflix and Prime Videos) connected to the Panasonic TV. Should I use the HDR settings only when viewing HDR content on the Fire TV and then revert back to SDR settings when viewing non-HDR 4K content? In other words, do I set the TV based on the capability of the input source, or based specifically on the content I am watching? Thanks in advance!

I have this TV and absolutely love it,but I'm wondering if anyone else has experience of this issue that I have intermittently. While playing my Xbox one X I get occasional flickering on the left of the screen, like little rectangles that stretch about a third of the way across the screen. I thought it was my Xbox it I'm sure I just saw the same thing with my switch. Has anyone else experienced this?

I also believe it's a HDMI problem, have same problem with PS4. Solution is simple: turn TV off then back on.

I personally would not use high colour, high backlight, high brightness settings etc, as these will burn out your led /lcd screens quicker. It is better to use true lifelike colour settings.This guy uses settings 'he thinks are best, it is his personal opiniun.
