When you first got into the seat and did the seat tour, you pointed to the area above the tray table and said "you see these everywhere now; we have them on TAP airlines"...what were you referring to exactly??

Informative video. My kids and I are flying to Costa Rica and it’s between this airline and Frontier (both the same price) I’ve seen horror stories with Frontier lol so I think I’ll go with Avianca

We booked 8 round trips on Frontier in 2023 and besides one 3 hours delay, they were great. Maybe we got lucky. We also tried Aviance with Bogota layover on our way to Ecuador and that also went well. I think you will be fine with either but follow your hunch with Avianca! Safe travels

Thanks for this video. I just booked a similar flight with Avianca to get to Peru via Bogota. How did you find the legroom? As someone who is around 6 feet tall, I was getting worried hearing that the seat pitch on their A320Neo was only 29 inches.

Glad you found it helpful. Both of us are 5’ 8” and we have 2-3 inches between us and the seat in front. 6 may work but will be tight. BTW we have also booked Avianca for a trip to Panama City next month and another trip to Lima Peru in fall. Safe travels

I need to book a flight from Buenos Aires to Miami. My choices are Avianca or American Airlines. The American flight is over $1000.00 more but I am reading nothing but horror stories about Avianca. However, In watching your video it did not seem that bad. I just have a couple of questions for you. 1). What was the temperature on the flight? I am worried about a plane being too hot. I do not do well in hot planes. 2). I have been reading about people on the flights blaring their phones and other devices really loudly so that it annoys the other passengers. Did you find this to be the case? Thank you.

Excellent questions. We have taken 12 flights with Avianca (NY to Bogota twice, Bogota to Quito, NY to El Salvador, El Salvador to Panama, Bogota to Lima and the. All as return flights). Out of 12 flights, the temperature in the plane was quite consistent when we entered and during the flight except one time and we made a video about it. Link below. So 1 out of 12 flight was hot for the first 15 minutes. And on loud music, we have not experienced any loud music or shows in our experience. @@KhizEesa Ok. Thank you. Your response helps. I watched the video link that you provided below. It was a “short” so not sure if you have a longer video about that flight. So, in your estimation, it took about 15 minutes to cool down? It was not like that the whole flight? I had a bad experience with a flight one time. One of the air conditioners completely broke down during a flight. They did not land the plane. It was so bad that the ice completely melted. They could not serve ice with our drinks. The flight attendants were sweating profusely. I just can’t go through something like that again. I have flown many times since that incident and it has never happened again, thank goodness, but it is always in the back of my mind.

Do the seats not recline?

Yes, we did notice that the seat had the recline buttons but we typically don’t recline seats often so we didn’t test them out.

I'm planning to take a shot with XS, really cheap though... my main concern is the knee space, Do you think that is enough? also, did you pay for the rolling luggage? I remember I saw somewhere that rolling luggage will be extra cost even if they are size compliant. I hope you had a great time in BOG!

Thank you. We are both 5' 8" a d for us the seats were roomy enough. Its comparable to Frontier Airlines. We didn't pay for luggage so we carried our bags instead of rolling them in. The check-in Avianca crew gave us a helpful tip not to roll the bag when boarding. Best of luck with your travel and come back and let us know how it went

Yes we were hoping for a snack or meal but since we paid less than $300 round trip, we were happy with the cheap price, the outlets to charge our phones and the nice crew. We would fly Avianca again

For a $200 round trip NYC to Quito, we were totally fine with inflight entertainment IFE using your device. The seats do recline. And yes there was inflight WiFi to access Avianca inflight IFE www.avianca.com/en/information-and-help/avianca-experience/onboard-entertainment/

I mean regardless of the price, $200 is a great deal, don’t get me wrong….but I fly Bogota to Santiago for 5+hrs I would have to figure out a way to entertain the kids. The first leg would be a 787 and those have entertainment, but it appears that the A320Neo do not.
